Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  - I keep thinking that I had to have misread the time on my Fitbit but since I don't know for sure, I'm going to go along with it anyway - at least for today.  HAHA

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL ...hey...you had the wind behind you 😆.  Nice going!

@bopper ...idk about you, but seems I have little tolerance for any change whatsoever...I feel like i can't be bothered...maybe an age thing ??

Didn't get much walking in today, its under 2 miles, but I had a stressful day...again with IRS...but after another hour on the phone I got an appointment in June...plus I actually drove into an office because I wanted to be heard, but it boiled down to calling AGAIN. Experiencing terrible anxiety talking to them and trying to hear, and give out my info...I was actually shaking.

Some shopping and errands added up my activity today.

Yesterday bathed both horses...called vet to make appointment for injection to help Breezie stop itching/rubbing herself crazy.  Coated her heavily with oils and repellent meanwhile....shes ALOT!

Yes, one day at a time.

I have a painting i made...says, "I just want to drink wine and pet my dog "....oh yeah!! 🍷

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning.

Went to the park and did a 30 minute walk; 23 minutes in the "zone" according to Fitbit, which is an improvement.  Walked 1.4 miles, 3,427 steps.  I'm happy with the 1.4 miles as that is an improvement and I did go a bit further today so must be getting stronger.  Wore my compression socks this time so hoping those will help with the swelling and stiffness.

Not sure what else the day will bring other than a few chores around the house.

Take care everyone and thank you for being my cheerleaders!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Well I can now say it's snowing here, and it really truly is!   My poor birds are gobbling up the birdseed.

I took hubby to the Y, and then came home and did 2- 20 minute walks on the treadmill, and then a 20 minute strength workout.  I'm feeling overwhelmed, almost teary.  I can't share everything here per the others, but I feel like I am about to snap at times.  I'm trying to take time for me, and I have to get my exercise in, but my housework is taking a slide.

@Dazlin just giving baths to the horses has to be a big chore!   When I worked for a Vet I remember him going out to farms and giving shots and tests to cattle and horses.  One that I remember (and don't ask me why Haha) was the Coggins test.  Sometimes people would trailer their horse to the Vets but most of the time he'd have a farm day and go all day long.

@violet runner I got another pair of Bayleaf pants, the gray ones.   I like the stretch and they will breath well I think once it's warmer out, especially when I am some place where it's buggy, and here it's buggy everywhere!

I'm roasting a chicken in the oven now, seems at 37 degrees out that's a square meal, as my dad always used to say!

I'm almost ready to put my jammies back on, sad but true!

@JudyL another great walk for you!   Much progress!!!  Woo hoo!!!!!!!

Later kids!

keep on keepin on!

I don't have any tolerance either, and I do think it's an age thing!   Patience is small, even with the littles, what used to be funny to me is not funny now LOL.... and i Love that sign on the painting!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  change in our routines is hard - even harder as we age.  Plus your DH had a big medical event.. that had to weigh on you. Its so encouraging he's doing well.

One big event for me was when my DH and I both retired.. and we did it on our late 50's- I worked a little beyond that.. but sharing space when we normally didn't took some getting used to.  Now we pretty much do our own thing durning the day and meet at dinner time. Have learned to navigate around each other.. HA!  Perhaps you are still adjusting to a change in schedules and " your time".. The weather isn't lifting your spirits either.

Glad you got another Baleaf pant- I like the brand too.

My Salomon shoes came and I like them.. But they are a light color- I am not used to that. I usual go darker.. But the only other option I like is black and dont' want another black color. Pretty sure i am keeping them ...

Walking, rec center, and I still haven't tested out my bike- its been a little too windy yet.

I did pick up 2 tomato plants- hardening them off and hope to get them in my gow bags  by the weekend. It'll still allow me to drag them into the garage if our temps dip.

@JudyL  You're doing well walking.. more and more steps! YAY!  I never did purchase a fitbit, but when my current one dies, I think I will.

@Dazlin  like you pic- but I dont' have a dog or  drink wine.. but it sounds conforting!! Which is the message, right?

Meeting my friend this morning. We may go to REI- love  sportswear stores!!And of course get dirty chais after!!

  Have a wonderful day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone!    Well we woke up to 30 degrees!  Brrrr

Drove DH to the Y, and then sat a little bit by the lake listening to the waves.

Came home and did 45 minute Intentional Walk on the treadmill.   It was full of affirmations and one that spoke to me was ( I'm surprised I can remember it LOL)   " I am worthy, even if they don't  see it, I do and that is enought"

@violet runner I know it's hard for us to get used to the other one being under foot.   It actually helps to drive him somewhere for a few hours, gives me my normal time routine. I'm always thinking about light color shoes because the end of the toes gets dirty and I don't like that.   I have never washed mine in the washer, I suppose I could but I don't want them to break down becaue of it.  Have you? I bought some knee length cargo shorts in the same fabric as the Bayleaf pants from Walmart.  I think they will be good for hot weather.

I hope everyone is safe, we had that storm that others are getting now and many are without power, and could be for a couple more days.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone!   Woke up yesterday feeling run down,  and a cold sore.  I dont handle stress very well, physically...so it's not unusual for me get run down...but today I'm feeling better and talked myself into getting out for a walk..."Self...get your caboose up and out...ohhh, but I dont feel well...okaaaay, ill go"...so now I'm here reporting, I walked 40 minutes.  I couldn't get my pace up though...so when i saw my time/distance on my Pacer app...I wasn't exactly thrilled, but I did it.  I could have used a little wind behind me, hee, hee😆.  As usual I got all my chores in too.  I happen to like cleaning...🤷‍♀️...laundry too.

I love to cook too 😋.  Made shrimp scampi yesterday and I added spinach and goat cheese.

@bopper ...can't believe your weather...gosh!  That doesn't help the mood.  Hang in there...time goes fast and before you know it, things will get back to normal.  That said, we all get those days...I think the fact that you still have the head to exercise says ALOT about you...your certainly not giving in.  Gonna be just fine in due time!

@JudyL , @violet runner ...you guys are doing really good...WOWZA!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good afternoon.

Today I went for a shorter walk.  Knee is feeling quite swollen and stiff and I had a rough night.  So instead of walking at my usual pace, I slowed it down and didn't go as far.  It got my knee moving, I got some steps in, and it was important to me to keep up the continuity of doing something every day.  Came home and took some Advil.  Hopefully that will help my knee feel better.  Forgot about wearing a compression sock.

Its another beautiful day here and that was another reason why I wanted to get outside.  Nothing much else to report.  Hope everyone is doing ok today.
