Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Sunday!   I skipped yesterday.   I had the funeral for my nephew and boy it was draining.  The young boys dad spoke in between melt down.  I think everyone in the funeral home was bawling at some point.

I may just chill today.

@violet runner I was keeping up with the weather there, and the winds.   My DIL never texts me, and since my son is off working now I have to go by the weather app.

Is anyone here in a good place to view the eclipse?   We're supposed to be pretty cloudy.  I'm bummed, originally they had said clear skies.

Sun is out now and it was a very frosty morning.  I want to watch baseball and basketball today but then feel guilty for not being outside.

Shine your light today!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  We should get a partial eclipse- good enough for me.

Hard to do funerals.. Maybe take your rest day today and watch sports- even if the sun is shining.

My son texted and power still shut off.  its windy but not like last night.

I guess they do this in CA too when it gets windy..

 Sign of the times ..

Wish me luck- walking is calling me and I am not a "walk in the wind kind of girl!"

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper
I find most funerals very hard to attend and emotionally draining. Sometimes taking a break is good and sometimes getting outside and moving help to get out of a funk. Hope your day goes well for you.

@violetrunner
I do not like a cold wind at all. A slight breeze is okay, but certainly not any wind that causes them to turn off power.

We are not in the flight of this eclipse. We did see the total eclipse in 2017. It was phenomenal to experience.

I feel better today and my tummy thing seems to have abated. Thank goodness. Went on a walk and came home and made waffles.

Yes here in CA - especially up in the Sonoma and Napa wine countries - they will turn power off during wind storms.  They just started doing that in the last couple of years.  Businesses are not happy but in our really bad wind storms, who goes out anyway?

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL  - People were out and about during this 2 day wind event! They even played MLB both days- The Rockies.. I tried to imagine who would want to sit in that kind of wind to watch a ballgame.

My city doesn't have Excel as  the electric power source so we didn't lose power. My son left after visiting yesterday ( late afternoon) and still didn't have power.. That's 2 days.. One city is livid- the businesses lost  a weekend of shopping customers. There were 55,000 customers who purposely had their power turned off and many others who just lost power due to  the wind.  Supposedly it was just to have it off for 1 day- and then ran into problems re- energizing it, plus the many who lost with lines down. And even worse they didn't notify some until the power was already off so they could prepare.

And I did get out in the wind and walked.. twice!  One time the gusts almost blew me over.  Definitely resistance training.  I played outside for a little bit with my grandson too.

  So I got some exercise.

Congrats to  SC for winning the women's college basketball championship.- It was a good game until SC took over..

And I have eclipse glasses and will catch the partial one here in CO today. I kinda smiled- I know it's a pretty big event and I would be near 90 years old when the next one comes- but I thought the media hyped it up so much like its a new holiday.. Guess for some it is.  Enjoy today if you watch it. Anyone in the totality areas?

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy eclipse Monday for thise that celebrate! 😎

I got on treadmill for a 45 minute slow jog. Did five 30 sec planks. Planks are still very difficult for me. I am hoping rain holds off so I can get outside a bit.

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Monday,

Did an hour of Power tonight and found myself in an X rated abdominal track. The hip thrusts were many and I enjoyed watching the hunky instructors do them, but I would never do this routine in a gym class. We might procreate.

Have a good week all.

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Eclipse Monday!

We really didn't get much, never got dark.  To far North I think.

Thank you for the kind words regarding this funeral. Hopefully the last for a very long time.

I did a 40 minute walking video but made myself a circuit using tread, rebounder, and vibration plate.  It was good and the pace was fast.

Then added a 20 minute spin, I'm way below the others because I don't want to much resistance on my knees don't need it.

Looking like rain now though.

Peace be With You!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning all.  Nice day coming up.

@bopper, funerals are very emotional, especially when it's a close relative.  I'm glad that's behind you and your family and hopefully, the healing can begin.

My car was leaking oil so I spent most of the day at the car dealership.  When I got there I was told that there were three recalls and asked if I wanted them done then. Each recall service was expected to take an hour to an hour and a half.  So I said no, that would be longer than I wanted to be there.  Well, I waited and waited wondering why an oil leak was taking so long, even though it had to go through a diagnostic check.  To shorten this story....turns out the mechanic did two of the three recalls as well as the oil check.  I had been sitting there worried that my bank account would be emptied with the repair cost.  Worked out in my favor, though because they waived the cost of the diagnostic check since the recall stuff was done then.  Would have been nice to be told in advance, though.

So, since I was at the dealership all day, I didn't think about the eclipse.  It wasn't going to be that visible in my area anyway.

Today, I'll work on my short exercising throughout the day.
