Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning everybody.  Everybody is having weird weather!  We've been lucky with only cold, strong winds and a few flurries.  @bopper, you had to shovel?  Oh, my.

I made a mistake on the date of my sister's surgery.  It's the ninth on one eye and the tenth on the other.  @MickD, you couldn't move your head or eyeballs for two weeks?  How did you do that?  Wow!

@bopper, yes we have opposite inseam problems, lol.  I have several DG2 jeans and years ago, even getting petite was 30" long in her brand but now it's usually 28" which is fine for me.  30 inches is normally regular height and 32 is a tall.  You must be tall or have long legs, right.  (Btw, did you know that Diane Gilman is recovering from breast cancer, which is why she hasn't been on tv)?

Today, I will do Zumba and maybe a quick one mile walk.  Tomorrow I plan to do line dancing at a western dance set we are going to.  Hubby doesn't line dance but at this event they play music for regular dancing too, but do to his possible dizziness, he'll have to sit out any dancing.  Line dancing is a gift for ladies without a dance partner.

Have a great day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Oh, I forgot to ask you @DrKelli, have you ever heard of

K’ Bam, supposedly a new fitness type dance?  If so, what do you think?  Some of my fitness instructors have been sent to learn it so that it can be implemented at my fitness center.  I checked it out on YouTube and it seems like it will be fun. I like high energy type routines as long as it can be low impact.

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Saturday, cleaning and doing some cooking today.  It's so cold out, snow flurries and yes we have tons of snow on the ground, can't see any bare ground anywhere, looks like the middle of December.

Foxxie yes I"m 5'8"tall so I need about a 32" inseam ideally.  I heard that about Diane also, I hope she is doing okay.  I really like the fit of her jeans, though.  Glad I tried them.  I hate running to Kohls and trying on numerous pairs, every pair fits different, and then it is the changing room hassles.  Guess I"m just getting old!  LOL

I thought I was babysitting my GD but her mom didn't have to work and my son is helping my husband install blinds in a house today.  I was all set for her too, little stinker that she is.  Love her so much!

Free shipping day on the Q, still want to use my GC but not sure for what, and I am not going to be impulsive.  Of course what I want is 200$, most would not want what I want but it's the Cyclo 2 trainer for my TG.  See it's not a D&B handbag, it's exercise equipment hahaha..   But I bet I won't get it, I don't have 200$ and that's with my gift card...the price is 250$.    Oh well, it is what it is.

Back to washing dishes, make it a good day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper I cannot believe you have that much snow on the ground and flurries to boot!  I would go bananas about now!

I looked at that cycle.....very cool......and expensive!  I bet it would be great on the abs!  I'll have to check it out the next time she's on air.

I haven't done TG in awhile and was actually thinking about starting the Pilates reformer for some additional toning....

Took husband on the trail.....he hasn't been in a year and he needs to do cardio .....golfing is not cardio. We walked and jogged for 40ish min.

Happy Saturday all!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good afternoon!  Do I dare say its a beautiful day by the Bay.  Sunny but cool.  So nice after the last few days of lots of rain.

This morning I did a 3 mile workout with the Leslie Sansone DVDs.  This time, however, for the first mile I wore weighted gloves.  Not sure how heavy they are but I could tell a difference!  Great workout for the arms but also got my heart rate up too, which is good.  Felt good to push myself a bit this morning and work a little harder.  Can sure tell this afternoon as I'm a little bit sore!

Did lots of errands today.  One was taking my big boy, Montague, to the vet.  I was so hoping with his new food he would have lost some weight - nope.  He's 19.56 pounds.  It was a "beauty" day visit for him - manicure, cat style, getting his claws clipped; getting his "hair" done - some mats combed out that I couldn't get, and well, he needs to have his bottom shaved cuz he's too fat to adequately clean himself and he won't let me help.  I know, thats probably TMI.  LOL  Then brought him home and went out again and did some other errands.

Going to start cooking some casseroles and things that are good to freeze for the time I'm recuperating and having guests.  Hope everyone has a good rest of your weekend!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Ladies how did I miss making a spaghetti cassreole especially when my DD was a child?!  I know this doesn't have anything to do with our exercise thread other than after eating as much as I did, I'm going to have to workout for days!  LOL   I was looking to make some casseroles that would freeze well for when I'm recuperating and came across this recipe for spaghetti casserole.  Sounded good and easy to make.  It was delicious!  It made a huge amount so when I make it again, I'll cut the recipe in half.  Thank goodness for Lock n Locks!  HAHA

[ Edited ]

Good morning everyone.  @JudyL How thoughtful of you to be preparing meals in advance of your surgery and recuperation.  I'm sure they appreciate you.  When I was younger I would do that too.  Instill have some of the Tupperware containers in the basement.  One of these days I'm going to pack that stuff up and donate it.  Corning ware, too.

WW meeting this morning.  My scale says 129.8!  But I'll bet it will be over my goal of 130 at my weigh in with clothes on.  I don't think they will allow me to strip naked, lol.  Oh, well one more week to wait for making goal.

Have a great Sunday everybody.

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Sunday, sun is out, but its very cold, snow won't go without a warm up but according to the weather channel this cold extends pretty far down, so I'm not alone anyways!

I'm heading out to walk, it's in the mid 20's, so bundling up and getting my fresh air fix.  Hubby went to the Y, and my washer is almost done so when that stops I'll head out.

Had a nice dinner last night with my son and 2 granddaughters, and then visited my dad.  He gets such a kick out of the 2 year old, she takes off her shoes and socks and does her summersaults on the carpet to show great grandpa what she can do, twirling and waviing a 4th of July flag,  Doesn't take much to make her happy!  What a blessing she is, all of my grandchildren are.

Not much on the agenda today, baseball at 2, so will watch that.  Not sure what's for dinner yet, don't want to think that far ahead yet.

foxxie Congrats on the weight loss, your rocking it!!!  I don't think I weighed that in 8th grade LOL...

Ohhh washer is done, so heading outside for fresh air and nature meditaion.  Have a great day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good moring!  Beautiful, sunny, perfect temperature day by the Bay.

Whoa!  That workout yesterday did me in.  Not sure why cuz I've done the 3 mile walk before and it didn't make me that sore and can't imagine using the hand weights for the first mile could have done all that.  Anyway, I must have really worked it!  LOL  Did some stretches last night and that helped but ended up taking Advil before going to bed.

Today is definitely an exercise rest day.  Went and got my car smogged, stopped at the grocery store for something I forgot yesterday, now home to take a quick shower and get ready to meet friends for lunch.  Then home to laundry and maybe a bit of housework.

@Mmsfoxxie congrats on the weight loss!  Way to go!  Know how hard it is.

@bopper  sorry you are still having such cold, wintry like weather.  I hope it warms up soon for you.

Everyone else I'm waving hi.  Hope all of you have a safe and nice Sunday!
