Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all!   We had a decent weekend here and it was downright hot yesterday!!  We have another hot day and then back to rain/snow for the next two days.

I taught LaBlast on Saturday.  And I'm happy to report that my garage project  (Phase I) has been completed.  I got all the stupid boxes broken down and out to the curb.  It looks much better.  I still have some things that I need to go through, but at least the majority are gone.  I brought in all my carbonated drinks when it got so cold, but I missed a couple of boxes and the ends had blown off the cans!  So those got tossed too.

I have Lablast on Demand today (Hopefully.  I have a conference call at 10--I'm hoping to finish in a half hour).  My dance lesson is today instead of Wednesday because I will be in New Mexico for work on Wed and Thursday.

Hope you all have a good day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Hi Everyone!  Cool but sunny here today.  Nice having the windows open for a bit.

Did Adrienne's beginners yoga today.  Since it has been months since I did any yoga, thought it would be a good idea to go back to the beginners video and do that for a while.  So glad I did!  I am so out of shape.  LOL  oh well, at least its a start!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.  Beautiful weather here yesterday....in the upper 70s.  Today is supposed to be low 80s.

Went to my fitness center yesterday and did a 55 minute cardio class.  First half was fine but the bottom of my feet started hurting again by the second half.  Today, a Zumba class is scheduled but I think I'll skip it and do something at home.  The instructor guy who taught tha class is no longer there, I'm told.  When the last schedule was done, there were not enough classes to support him financially, so he left.   Another pandemic casualty.  I liked him so much....funny and very popular with everyone but he was a free lancer, going from place to place to teach.  I wish him well but I'm thinking he's running into the same problem with other facilities.  Most of the instructors at the fitness center are permanent employees and apparently get first dibs on classes.

Have you ever looked at something in your house that looks terrible and then one day you realize it looks beyond terrible.  My bedroom carpet is getting more and more like a rumpled bed..  but to replace it, all of my heavy furniture have to be moved out.  It's very heavy furniture and the guys that moved it here when I got married had a difficult time.  The armoire is huge and there is the wall unit with a mirror where the bed goes.  Bought it in 1998 so I'm thinking of donating it and buying a new carpet and bedroom set.  The problem getting rid of or storing all of the things in those drawers while the project is getting done.

Have a great day everybody.

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all!

It's a nice day here, but much cooler than yesterday.  Same for tomorrow.  I didn't get to join the online LaBlast class yesterday because my call took a full hour. I did have a dance lesson that got my cardio up.  Our performance is on Friday.

I'll do Lablast today and then I have my annual physical.  I waited over 6 months for this appointment--ridiculous.  But at least I'll be done for a  year.  In July, I start back on the oncology 'tour'.

Not much else going on--hope you all have a good day!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Tuesday

I did 45 minutes on the Cellerciser with I Jump Instead and also did San Fran Fitness 21 Day Abs for 25 minutes.   Total Gym biceps and triceps.

It's still crappy here.   37 and high of 41 such a big increase.....  NOT  and same for tomorrow and Thursday.  Every single stinkin day we're cold, cloudy, wet and gray.  It's getting to me!

Especially when I see so many people preparing garden bed, planting, mowing... I mean really???  We don't even have hardly a bud on the trees and grass is brown and yucky.

I slept good though, didn't even go bathroom until 5:45 am.

@Mmsfoxxie  yes I hear ya on the carpet.   My bedroom carpet was put in in 1983 so I got you beat.  All the bedrooms have crappy carpet and they are so small you can barely fit the bed in let alone a dresser.  I hate our bedroom.  Our living room carpet is over 20 years old and we need new.   I don't think we'll ever be able to afford do to any of it.  Sucks...

@JudyL Adrienne is great and smart to go back to the basics.

@DrKelli good luck with your physial.  Why do you have to do the oncology tour again?  Am I missing something  I thought you were all done other than rechecks from time to time.

We're still burning wood for heat here.   We wanted to save our wood for next winter and didn't plan on burning now  but we have electric heat and our basement where I workout has no heat other than the wood stove so without a fire downstairs I'd be freezing down there

Guess I"m having a bla day...

Keep going everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.  Rain expected here later today and into the night. I have a dental cleaning this morning so I hope it holds off during anything heavy while I'm on the expressway.

My youngest granddaughter will be two in a couple of days.  Looks like she'll be spending it at UCLA with specialist probing her head.  I haven't talked about her in a while because it was such an ongoing story and this is an exercise thread, afterall.  I have to give my tenacious daughter in law credit......whenever doctors in Vegas told her that they'd done all the insurance company would pay for, she kept pushing, finslly getting an advocate who has a special needs child herself.  This advocate got the insurance to approve the UCLA specialist exam.  So Monday, they drove from Vegas to L.A., coming back Monday.  The first thing the specialist said, after looking at her MRI , "how come there's nothing in her records about the brain damage at the back of her brain?".

Any way, anyhow, I might do some in place walking when I come back.  I can 1200 calories or less everyday since March 29th and all I've lost is 7.6 lbs.  And that fluctuates by .2 of a pound.  Too slow.  I don't drink enough water, though.  Why I forget about it so often is a mystery.

I hope my dental cleaning doesn't turn into a bigger problem.  Lately, one of my teeth has been sensitive off and on.  It already has a filling but it's worn down, thanks to all of the caramel popcorn with clumps of pecans.  It was like eating toffee.  I was too much into my addiction and pandemic misery to stop, lol.

Have a good day, all.

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Hey y'all.    Well the sun finally made an appearance but it was still cold out but I didn't care.   I even sat on the deck and caught some rays and listened to the birds.  It really is a way to just breathe and reflect because all this gray and cold weather has gotten me depressed.

I did 45 minutes on the Cellerciser this morning and a dog walk.   Then just some light cleaning.

@DrKelli  Okay I understand what you are saying.

@Mmsfoxxie This past year has been terrible for all of us.  Feeling off all the time.   I hope this summer we can be somewhat normal if everyone would chose to vaccinate which they won't.   I also remember about your GD and her brain  problems.   It has to be so hard on everyone and stressful and now what the specialist said.   Is this new?

Not much else here and I am already in my jammies!   Have a good night!

Re: WELCOME TO THE APRIL EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.  Well, the rain came but no thunderstorms on my side of town.  And none I'm I was out at the dentist.

If I had known my hygienist was not going to be in, I would have cancelled.  They tell me after I get there...maybe they didn't know.  The hygienist I got really made me appreciate Tammy.  After the cleaning, I got my scheduled fluoride treatment. She must have put it on too thick because I had to spit pieces into a Kleenex driving home.  Looking in the mirror, there were clumps of it on my teeth.  When I ate later, none of my food tasted right.  Had to put my electric toothbrush on a stronger setting because that night there were still pieces stuck on my teeth.  Very nice lady but she won't get in my mouth again.  It's a fairly small dental operation and I would dare complain to them so, lol, I'm ranting on here.

@bopper, my granddaughter has had several diagnoses but medications and treatment proved them wrong.  Yes, this diagnosis is new.  All we know for sure is that something is not right with her.  She gets some kind of treatment through a feeding tube in her stomach.  She has tremors sometimes, too.  She hardly ever smiles but you can tell she's happy.  When she gets mad, she's really mad.

I'm going to the fitness center this morning and do a cardio/weight training class.  Highlight of my day, lol.  Better days are coming, I hope.

Enjoy your day.
