It's a fad. Most people don't have vitamin deficiencies. Too much of a good thing can be bad for the kidneys and for general health altogether.

I DON'T drink it for vitamin deficiencies. I drink it for HYDRATION. I'm well aware of the role of vitamins for health.

Plain water or mineral water is better for hydration than vitamin water.

I am aware of  that. I drink 5-6 bottles of water every day, so I am well-hydrated.

Never tried this brand ....  exactly WHAT vitamins do they put in this water?  How much of a dosage?

Does this mean I can stop taking Andrew Lessman's Essential One vitamins?   (sarcasm intended).

The notion that only water is a good source for hydration has been repeatedly debunked, including by the National Academy of Medicine.  All kinds of liquids can contribute to a person’s total water needs, including beverages like tea, coffee, juices, and sodas, as well as the moisture contained in foods like fruits, vegetables, soups and even meats.

VitaminWater is full of things that we don't need, some of which may be detrimental to the drinker's health, but it is good for hydration.

@sarahpanda - I have never tried vitamin water. I drink bottled water, and so does the rest of my family. I sure wish water came in recyclable glass bottles, however. I would think that vitamin water would be better for one's body than soda of any variety, so making that change would probably be a good one. I wish you luck in finding one you enjoy.

I get my vitamins (extra vitamins, that is) from the multivitamin I take. I do believe in vitamin supplementation. I think that many illnesses we get are from a particular vitamin deficiency, which varies per the individual. Our microbiomes and our diets are so very different. What (vitamin or mineral) one person is deficient in could be quite different from what other people are deficient in. One person may eat a lot of carrots, high in Vitamin A, while another may dislike carrots and avoid eating them altogether.  One person in my family is vegetable avoidant, and very picky. Some of us need more supplementation than others. Eating too many processed foods can lead to vitamin deficiencies, too.
