Was told to begin taking Vitamin D as I am a breast cancer survivor.  I just notice that one of the ingredients is soy and wondered if this could be a problem.  I will check with my team but just wanted to mention this.

I use Nature's Made.

I am a 2 time breast cancer survivor, I was told to avoid all soy at all cost, yeah right, that's in everything. Good luck to you.

The endocrinologist I see prescribed Vit D. There's a D2 and D3. The scrip is 2. There is nothing but D in a clear base.

Just go out in the sunlight everyday for 20 minutes, that will get you plenty of Vit D,  eventually your number will go up. Mine hovers around 49 give or take a few.

Like yourself I worried about soy but I believe it was sidsmom who posted some very influential and fact based posts about it not doing harm. Afterwards, I ran it by my oncologist and was told new studies say it isn't a concern for survivors.

I take the tablets not the gel based Vitamin D. The tablets do not have soy in them if you are worried. (Same brand)

Of course check it out with your medical practitioners to make sure they aren't a problem for your individualized medical needs. Good luck!

Not necessarily correct.  I spend several hours a day out in my yard working, yet I am low in Vit D.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body.  As we age our organs don't work as well as they did when we were younger.  Your skin doesn't asborb the vit D from the sun as well as it did.

It also may not even be age related some bodies can't process it as D

I had allergy testing done this week and I'm allergic to soy. I was shocked when reading labels that it's in everything, unfortunately.

I would avoid soy particularly being a breast cancer survivor.

Yes, it could be a problem & it is one that can be avoided. It takes a bit more effort to avoid unwanted ingredients in supplements but pure ones are available. I do not buy any supplements - or food - containing soy. No exceptions.
