Re: VITAMIN D3 TAKEN WITH VITAMIN K2

I have been taking everything at the same time for many years, calcium, magnesium, K2 and D3.  My osteopenia has remained fairly stable for over 20 years now.

Re: VITAMIN D3 TAKEN WITH VITAMIN K2

My oncologist, who prescribed D3 for me, never mentioned K2. I decided to shop for vitamin K2. I wondered about the strength so I Googled this vitamin. I was surprised to read that there is a possible connection to breast cancer. That stopped me in my tracks. I have an appointment with my oncologist next week and I will ask about vitamin K2. I take magnesium which my PCP suggested.

I don't want to worry anyone, but checking with your doctor before adding extra doses of vitamins might be a good idea.

Sadly, checking with your doctor, often means nothing, most dont know very much about vitamins or supplements as we have mentioned here before.

Re: VITAMIN D3 TAKEN WITH VITAMIN K2

The rheumatologist who diagnosed my scleroderma knew to check my vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels before she knew they were actually low. She told me to start taking a daily multivit along with D and B12.  She also knew I had osteoporosis before I had my first Dexa scan. She was a smart cookie and knew a lot about nutrition and disease. Sadly, she retired some years ago and I have yet to meet another doctor as knowledgeable as her.
