I had horrible pain in my bicep .. to the point of making me cry .. turned
out it was a torn rotater cuff in my shoulder ....

I suffered with upper arm/shoulder pain for 3 months before I went to an orthopedic surgeon. The MRI showed a torn rotator cuff and bicep. He didn't recommend surgery and gave me a cortizone shot which made a huge difference. It took many months to heal but the shot made a huge difference in daily living.

I went to a doctor who was also a professional body builder. Was given ibuprofin, pain cream & weight lifting exercises. Mine was elbow & forearm pain & surprisingly this worked. To this day, I still do these excercises when it aggravates me & it takes the pain away.
You probably should see a doctor & they will possibly send you to physical therapy.

Thanks to all who responded - I'm certainly not alone. My cause was definitely related to yard work (sawing branches, raking, mowing, pulling weeds and planting a flower bed). After all the work was done, I tended to a big fire and had to use a heavy metal rake to contain it. I think it's time to admit I'm old and buy a heating pad!

My remedy is arnica gel. Rub it in well several times a day. And yes, perhaps the heating pad.

Have had a torn bicep tendon in left arm and frozen shoulder on right. Waited several months with both before going to Dr. hoping it would get better. Well it didn't! Finally caved and went, treated with P.T. for both and it was hard work and took quite awhile to totally resolve.
I have no idea what your diagnosis is but I sure hope you find relief soon.

Go to Google and bring up a diagram of one's Upper Arm and the body parts involved. I could go through at least 10 different issues I have had with many of those parts, but I won't.
I have treated numerous pains/injuries etc. on my own. Because of my background in understanding and learning about human physiology from experts, and with it not being my 1st go around with the same injury/annoyance.
Most doctors take some sort of picture with their patients with types of problems, even though they have seen multiple patients with the same description of their issues. Why? To know exactly which of these body parts are the source, not where the pain surfaces.

@AuntG I have had upper arm pain that eventually spread to the under arm muscles and top of my shoulder and even down to my elbow sometimes. It all stemed from a "shoulder impingement". No operation needed. After quite a few months of pain,I went to an orthopedic doctor and was sent to a physical therapist who gave me fairly simple arm exercises, massages, pulling, and needling as needed. It took 13 treatments. It helped me a lot and now I do the arm exercises at home they gave me. It's helped me a lot. I have not had to go back to a doctor or physical therapist again. If I do something stupid (like lift too much weight) I may have to quit my routine for a few days and take some tylenol but as soon as I can... I start those execises up again. If some exercises hurt...stop ...and only do the ones that don't hurt and work back up to your routine. Also Bob and Brad on youtube have been a big help to me. If it continues or gets worse, I would see an orthopedist. It only took 1 visit to an actual doctor. If I hadn't taken care of it they told me it could have led to a tear and that you don't want!
