Now that's being sick . . . really sick! I don't think I've ever been that sick, Q4U. You must have a strong constitution otherwise so you were able to fight all of that.
Yes I know sarcoidosis can affect the brain . . . that's where one of my nieces says she has it, or had it. The "how" you got it is really important. I would do the same thing when I tried to sew materials like denim, especially at the seams. I always did it by hand also because I thought it would break my sewing machine. I stuck myself a few times too. The thing is I did not examine a dog's mouth right afterwards. People always say a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's. But it's not true. He/She obviously had an infection in her bad teeth and passed it on to you. How you survived three lines going up your arm, I will never understand. It seems miraculous to me.
The doc said it went "dormant?" However, if it hasn't returned in 18 years, I would say that was a cure, and a miraculous one at that. Although with all you suffered from in the ensuing years, it probably did a number on your autoimmune system. It sounds as though you have survived all of it though, and for that I am very happy for you.
I also agree with what your doctor said. And that, unfortunately, seems to be getting worse globally.
I wish you well also and that your health continues to thrive.

Urologist yesterday. She took a lot of time with me and was very thorough. However, she said she probably won't be seeing me again because she finds nothing wrong with my kidneys . . . no stones, no fluid, all normal. I'm awaiting the results of the urinalysis, but that's it.
My daughter said she was the best of all the docs I've seen, so I made sure I told her (she was in the hallway on our way out) what my daughter thought. She smiled and seemed very pleased.

Just curious @LilacTree...did you need another sonogram? That or a CAT scan is the only reliable diagnostic tool for kidney stones. If you have recurrent infections will the Infectious Disease specialist handle it ?

Wonderful news! So happy for you.
Happy Belated Birthday. After 80 it is supposed to get easier! Hope it does for you!

She read both the CT scan and the ultrasound and explained to me how ultrasounds can be misread. She depends on the CT scan which did not show anything that the ultrasound report suggested and the CT scan did not. If she is wrong, I guess I will find out.
As I said, another urinalysis is being done as well.
The infectious disease doc had also told me at the second follow-up appt. that I no longer had an infection, but that if I experienced any further symptoms to get back to her.
My history (which I have posted here many, many times) is that I never trust doctors or what they say. And I have been solidly rebuked for those opinions on this BB many, many times. I'm trying to trust the docs this time.
To tell you the truth, Trin, if anything really serious is wrong that I would need surgery or chemo, or anything that profound, I wouldn't do it anyway because I know I would not survive it. Chemo would kill me, and so would prolonged anesthesia. And if they didn't, it would be an infection. I am listening to the doctors and trying to accept their diagnoses.

Hi @LilacTree,
I'm happy to hear about the negative results regarding your kidney test results on the CT.
I've had things show up on urine tests when something isn't quite right with me, like with my kidney function or if it's showing a UTI, too, for example.
I hope that all goes well with your test results, so that you can put all of this behind you! XOXO

Thank you so much, Toppers3.
