I have used about half the container now. It definitely does make you feel full. My biggest problem has always been being hungry in the evenings, so I take my metamucil around 3 PM and it really keeps me from feeling that need to snack in the evenings.
On the container they recommend you take it twice a day. I don't think I'd want to do that as it would probably cause you to have to use the BR an awful lot. It is working well for me just taking it once a day.
Now my back is greatly improved I went and joined the YMCA so I can go to water aerobics and use the exercise equipment though I'll need to go easy with that.Just maybe some bike riding and some upper extremity exercises.

Benefiber also has an appetite control formula.

@151949, I have no comment on using Metamucil as an appetite suppresant, but I swear by water exercise. If structured properly, your water aerobics class should be much more than cardio aerobics. The classes I attend include cardio, strength training (using under water weights, noodles, boards, and just the body), stretching and posing using Pilates-oriented movements, dancing, and more.
Other than a Pilates reformer, I have not used a machine in my fitness routine for years. For sure over the past 10 years, or so, I've been on a nothing with a motor crusade for exercise. The result is my body looks better and is more fit in my mid-60s than at any other era in my life -- including the years when dance was my prinicpal fitness regimen. This has all been accomplished on a body which has a plethora of achy arthritic and post surgery parts, most notably multiple knee replacements.

Thanks for the Metamucil info ~ Last night I was just contemplating incorporating this into some type of routine, but wondered if it really helped curb the appetite.
Good luck to you as you progress : )

I recently purchased some Glucomannan powder from Vitacost for the same reason. One thing I've read is to be sure to drink plenty of water with it. Mine says to mix the serving with 8 oz. of water. I'd probably do a chaser afterwards, to make sure it all gets down.
