@gloriajean ---so glad to hear from you! And hurray for one more chemo----yes --chemo can be/is just what your daughter has gone thru and then far worse for some-----amazing that any of us survive that. I endured it  pretty easy compared to your DD and many others--and I had a pretty intense 5 months of chemo after surgery. Why that happens--I don't know. Pure luck, I'm sure-- I went thru 33 days of radiation before my adventure was over. Please give her my best---and to you as well.

She saw her surgeon today, he advised her to have a lumpectomy, and radiation.  If she would have her breasts removed, no radiation but no promise of the cancer returning he said.  She chose the lumpectomy and radiation after her 6th chemo which will be towards the end of this month.

Her 6th chemo is over with now, and it really is making her sick!  She has an appointment with a surgeon on Thursday next week.  There may be a chance she won't need radiation, she'll find out.  Please continue your prayers for her and I appreciate it so much!

She meets with a surgeon on Thursday, surgery is not ruled out, we will see what the surgeon will say about radiation.

The wait is six weeks for the surgery after the 6th chemo.

We pray she won't need the radiation.

@gloriajean - I was just thinking about you and your daughter tonight, so I came on here to see if I could find any update.

I'll add my prayers to those of others that Darla won't need the radiation and her ordeal will finally be over.  Heart

@gloriajean ---that is great she gets a long break  to recover and rest. You both deserve it. I had all three--surgery, chemo and the rads--and for me--the rads were the easiest to do. But have to say, my journey thru all this was a walk in the park compared to your sweet girl and many others--I don't know why as it was considered a very hard regime that I chose in a short time. My guardian angels must have had worn themselves out during that year. Anyway--time to recover My best to her and you!!

New update: Darla saw a new surgeon, and she liked her alot, she said she saw on her MRI or something some more little things by the tumor, and her cancer is the agressive type, so she suggests not waiting six weeks for the surgery, so it's scheduled April 23rd, it will be a a hospital near Mpls. and hour and a half drive from here, her younger sister, the Hospice Nurse will drive her there starting at 4 in the morning, and still get back for work that morning.  She sees quite a bit of patients on Hospice.

Radiation is a must, she said. We are hoping she can get the radiation here in our town so she wouldn't have to go so far, as the trips are hard on her. She also has that EDS.

So we pray for successful surgery and that the cancer never comes back.
