I have had low iron in the past also, make sure you take vitamin C, it helps you to absorb iron from your food. Also cook in an iron skillet, another way to up your iron levels. Also a teaspoon of black strap molasses two times a day helps to keep up your levels. You know it is not good to have too much iron in your system so you can't take iron forever. I check my iron by pulling down my lower eyelid and making sure it is pink/reddish where the interior skin is, (also when I get my thyroid checked I have my iron checked also). I also bought Andrews' iron, it is great. I don't really take any supplements anymore, but occasionaly pop one of Andrews supplements.
