I had my Unitied Healthcare housecall visit today 2/1 ( it's optional) I have it every year and they give a $15 reward and a gift as a thank you for participating.
My BP was a little low but no urgent problem, my cognitive exam showed no issues with brain functioning (thank goodness) no issues with my heart. My weight was good (133). My highest weight during my years of diabetes and raising my children was 254#. Still off diabetes and BP meds. I still take Gabapentin for the numbness in both feet due to the years of diabetes but no worsening. Overall everything was ok and a report will go to my doctor.
I think the Housecall visit is a great benefit and to get paid for it is all the better Anybody else have United Healthcare and do you participate in the Housecall visit yearly ?

@Goodie2shoes When I had it I did not participate because I see my doctor twice yearly. I didn't want them in my home.

@Goodie2shoes I have a very good rapport with my PCP and have no need to have any 3rd parties monitoring my health.

@Goodie2shoes Yes & nope. I am not sickly. I only suffer from migraines which I see a neurologist for once a year (down from every 4-6 months).
"My weight was good "
Nurse brought her own scale?
"give a $15 reward and a gift"
Cash?
What was the "gift"?

Understand completely it's a personal choice. I have had the exam every year for the past 3 yrs ( me and the nurse wore a mask during covid and she wore a mask today as well) I also see my MD and my next visit is the end of March but it's a simple exam, they are in and out within 1 hr and it's just a check on how things are going and it benefits me by making sure my diabetes remains under control. We remained in my dining room for the entire visit. I'm ok with it so far. She was a nurse practioner.

So essentially you had your Medicare wellness visit at home.

There's not a chance on the face of the earth that I would let a representative from an insurance company into my home.
I have a PCP that I like and trust. The insurance company will just have to get by with that.

Yes, she brought her own scale ( I had weighed on my own scale before she came so the weight was accurate) The $15 reward is loaded onto my Health Insurance card and the gift was a nice tote bag.

One family member had the home visit yearly from her insurance. Since she does see her Dr regulary she stopped these visits. They constantly called her number trying to set up the visit, and she ignored the calls and the voice mails from them! So far they have not called in a few months.

Medicare Advantage plans offer annual home visits to make money from Medicare. This is from the Harvard Health Blog: "The home visits conducted by Medicare Advantage plans allow for the capture of more diagnoses, which in turn increases the risk score that adjusts plan payments from Medicare. Generally speaking, the more diagnoses recorded, the higher the payment," Dr. Williams says.
In other words, they are looking for more boxes to tick to increase their reimbursements.
