If you are in need of a thermometer forget going to any stores as they are all out. Our thermometer stopped working and I put in new batteries and it still doesn't work. There are none to be found anywhere or any kind. I did order 2 from Amazon but they will take at least 2 weeks to get here. Sometimes you take things for granted that if you need it it will be there. Boy, what a lesson I have learned through all of this.
Be safe and be well everyone.

I received mine earlier this week, but it had been on order for a few weeks. Hope I won't need it.

Glad I got mine in mid March in Costco! Just a day or two before my job was shut down.
I bought a thermometer ( should have buy 2 like they allowed, wouldgive it to someone in need), a gallon of Lysol, Mucinex for possible coughs and immune support supplements, organic pasta, canned salmon , cookies and some other things.
Mostly glad that I was able to get some stuff and bunch of Ensure drinks to my mother in Manhattan, she is 90. Now I cannot get to her... sad
Stay well, check your local Costco for thermometer

You may also want to check your grocery stores, people usually go to big box stores or drug stores for these type items, since they're a little cheaper than at grocery stores.
And so many people staying home, causes online stock to diminish quickly and you end up having to wait for restock of inventory.
But 'any port in a storm', right?

The local pharmacies around here have been out of them for weeks. Just as this all began. I bought one off of Amazon and it did take a few weeks to arrive. I wanted one in reserve. Now it is a matter of finding the probe covers.

I don't trust those thin plastic sheaths, I forgo those and wipe it down with alcohol after using, I trust that more to kill germs, especially a potentially lethal germ for me (lung disease at 67).

I bought one on ebay and it arrived within the week. The last time I used a thermometer it was the old school mercury type that I had to shake.

I ordered one from Amazon 2 weeks ago, still says another 2 weeks before delivery

That's the only kind I've ever had/used. I have 2 of them.
The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to hold the thermoneter up to a light to "see" the mercury after taking the thermoneter out your mouth.
What I love about the old school ones, batteries not needed.
