His stent surgery for This Monday Dec. 11th has been put off until the insurance decides if it is going to be covered or not... and we have excellent health insurance. The insurance person said it can take up to two weeks for surgery to be OKed.... so we will know by the 19th of December and THEN be able to reschedule who knows when......
. So my husband's life is in limbo.. I suppose if his aortic aneurysm bursts before they OK the surgery to save his life, and he dies....they will not have to cover the cost of the stent surgery......
Maybe that is the idea of making him wait so long?? I would not put it past the insurance company.

Your husband will be fine. Mine has had 3 aortic aneurysm stent surgeries -- he waited several months before having the last one.

Is the aneurysm big? My father-in-law just had that surgery last week. I think his is 2.5 (don't know units of measure! lol). The surgery went well but he's having GI issues from the medication.

You said it is excellent insurance so I trust this is not an emergency situation.

@Violet Fields Did he have stent surgery or the open up the stomach surgery? My husband's Aneurysm was a 4 something... what medication was he given?

@SeaMaidenHe had the stent surgery. He stayed overnight and went home the next afternoon. The medication was something for pain. I'm not sure what it was exactly. It was giving him diarrhea, but otherwise he's doing pretty well. They told him not to drive for 2 weeks.I hope your husband's insurance gets figured out soon! But in the meantime I'm sure he'll be fine. Try to hang in there!

Sorry to hear about this setback, @SeaMaiden, but I always feel that things happen for a reason. I hope your DH can take a deep breath and wait for the insurance ok to come through. Everything will be okay, it is just going to take a little longer.
Hang in there, both of you! ![]()

Sending wishes for all the best to you and your husband.
May you have peace and courage; no use my telling you not to worry
I’d be out of my mind!

Hang in there @SeaMaiden, Take it 1 day at a time. It doesn't do to look too far down the road, because you will only scare yourself, imagining the worst

I'm so sorry @SeaMaiden. I just don't understand how this is tolerated. I'm still trying to understand having two thousand dollars in medical bills for a broken wrist and the"insurance" paying only $7 after a lifetime of premiums and no claims ever.
I hope they get their act together soon and you and your husband can get this behind you. I'll be thinking of you both.![]()
