The Mayo Clinic website is an excellent resource for more information on canker sores. They can last for weeks and can cause swollen lymph nodes and even anemia. Check out their website for guidance. Good luck!

@NickNack I hope you feel better. I did read that thoothpaste with SLS can be irritating and to avoid that. Also taking 500 mcg of B12 daily can help ward them off.
Some people have said eating kiwi fruit helped them or even swishing with cultured buttermilk and leaving in mouth for about a minute, brought them relief. Who knows, it might be worth a try.
When my daughter had to take iron she found good results with Andrew Lessman's Iron Plus. It was not constipating.

@NickNack , I hope your medical mystery is solved soon. It's not good to be feeling bad for so long. Let us know how you make out with you doctor appointment.

I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. While you wait to get into the dr, I recommend calling naturopaths in your area and tell them all your symptoms to see what they say and/or who/what they would suggest. They look at the body as a whole. Hope you find answers and relief soon.

I been thinking about you.
Sounds like the ENT visit ruled out this being the source of the symptoms. Do you have a University Medical Center nearby?

(more at night), extreme fatigue, etc. Of course, my internal medicine doctor ran me through so many tests. Finally, after a multitude of tests, I was diagnosed with a virus akin to Mono. I had to rest quite a bit, but I decided to take high levels of Vitamin C. My doctor thought it helped me to clear out this virus faster than he thought would happen. Weird things happen, and nothing like this ever happened to me again.
I do wonder if you have some sort of virus like I had. I am thinking of you, and I am sure your internal medicine doc will get to the bottom of this. They are persistent!
I had a similar experience, @PamfromCT . This was years ago and I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr. I also took large doses of C........I mean large....and the virus seemed to pass quickly. I did not have canker sores. I would be careful taking high doses of C in the presence of mouth sores. I think it could be highly irritating.
@NickNack I hope your PCP can get to the bottom of this. It does sound viral and I agree with the ENT that this needs to be looked at as a whole body illness. The swollen lymph nodes and hot body sounds like your body is trying to fight whatever is going on. Rest when you need to. Don't push yourself. Sleep is the ultimate antioxidant. ![]()

@granddi Thank you. Yes, my PCP is associated with the University Medical Center.

Just had another thought come to mind - if you've gotten the covid vaccine, I've heard/read of people having all sorts of weird symptoms that drs are puzzled by. Maybe start googling to see if your symptoms are similiar to others??

I used to get multiple canker sores frequently. Taking high doses of L-Lysine helped elimnate them. I did not have any other symptoms like you so I am not saying that you shouldn't get checked by your PCP but the L-Lysine might give you some relief from the canker sores.

@NickNack - correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you mention in your previous thread that you had been eating a lot of tomatoes lately?
When I was a child, probably around 11, I really went overboard with tomatoes a few weeks one summer and got all sorts of white sores in my mouth. Horrible pain.
a family member who was a doctor was in town (we were at my grandmothers visiting) so he looked and said it was all the acid from the tomatoes. This was back in the Laura Ingalls Wilder days. He had me rinse my mouth out 2-3 times a day with gentian violet. Wretched stuff, but it worked as did stopping the tomato consumption.
Now, I didn't have other symptoms like you do, but my mouth was in rough shape.
