Has anyone who has the UHC U Card purchased any OTC items from Amazon directly ?  I used my Ucard last week but wasn't aware that Amazon is the new shipping partner ( I didn't take the time to read the new updates from UHC) I ordered from the UHC website and my items came quickly just like they usually do when I order from amazon. Delivery is much better than previous orders from UHC in the past which might have taken a week or more. I like it !

I've only used my OTC U card "in store."  Never online.

How would you use the U card on Amazon?  Wouldn't Amazon need your personal info like on a CC for payment?  I have no numbers or codes on my card.  Just the black stripe & a bar code.  The drug store cashier takes my card.  I don't have to do a thing but hand the cashier my card.

I read on Amazon that you add your UCard to your account just as you would your credit card and make purchases billing to the UCard. I haven't added my card yet but I will. You have a card # on the back of your card

@Goodie2shoes   I just checked my card(s).  For some strange reason I didn't trash my old OTC card ( w/no codes or #s) when I received my new OTC card.

I checked the back & you are correct.  Has the same info as cc cards.  Now all I have to do is activate it fot 2024.

@Mz iMac Do you use your card credit quarterly or let it accumulate? Someone in customer service suggested waiting until the last quarter. Bigger ticket items can be purchased with the accumulated credit. I had not thought of doing that.

NO, don't do that!   The money doesn't accumulate.

The quarterly dollars come in on the first day of each calendar quarter.  You order stuff.  Anything left will b wiped off on the last day of that quarter, and new dollars post again on the first day of the calendar quarter.

Usually, I finesse my orders to use up almost nothing, since there's really nothing I can do with $.35 left in my acount.  lol

@Tinkrbl44 I wonder if different plans have different options about accumulating. The lady was explaining how to maximize my benefits like have someone coming into my home to help, free transport to the doctor, and her comment was many wait until the end of the year to spend their credits. I will call to double check her advice.  I spoke with her in late summer 2023.

@On It Could she have been talking about the "benefit" side of the card?  DH gets this card and yes you have to spend the dollars within the three month period or you lose it.

But there are also other funds available that you can use at the dentist or eye doctor.  I don't have this card not being of the age  but if you call your medical plan they can help explain it to you.   We didn't know about this benefit until our eye doctor told us about it. DH was able to get a couple hundred dollars off of his new eyeglasses.

@Tinkrbl44 @LindaSal I spoke with the United Health Care Customer Service this morning. I am on a plan for the Texas Retired Teachers. I asked the question about carrying over my credits. She asked for my member ID and my birthdate. That pulled up my specific plan.

This plan was negotiated by TRS on our behalf. It may differ from those others have obtained. We do have until December 31 to redeem quarterly credits on Healthy Benefits Plus cards. These are erased at the end of the year. We have no Dental coverage, but can receive a reimbursement of $70 on eyeglasses. There are some other benefits I should be using, but we have not discussed those here.

At this age, I question my memory some days, but I was certain that is what I was told a few months ago. I may make some quarterly purchases as needed, but I will not lose the unused portion until December 31.

Yes you have to spend the money you receive every 3 months within the 3 month period for otc items listed in the catalog or lose it but the rewards money for completing the "house call visit" or other health related activities they make available does roll over to the next year if not used.
