Just read an article about a recent study by the UC Berkeley that cellphones over time can cause brain tumors. We've all heard that in the past, but those studies were done not by researchers, but by the cellular companies themselves, always saying there was no evidence.
It's an interesting study that UC Berkeley did. It's cumulative over time and it's due to the ever increasing electronic waves that each new phone transmits from 4g to 5g... etc. They say after 10 years, your risk of a tumor is 60% higher if you used the phone against your ear for many years.
Also, they gave good examples of how to stay safe, like not having the phone near your body (in a pocket, bra, hip case). They advise people to use earphones and avoid using the phone when your reception isn't very clear as it makes up for the low connectivity and actually emits higher levels of radiation.
It's a very interesting study that we all should heed. I still have a landline and a Tracfone. Glad I kept my landline.

Another thing to worry about.

No concern with me. My use of a cell phone is maybe semi annual, and like my land line phone, it is never touching my head. I always use "speaker phone", regardless of which type I am using.
Not sure I am buying this study, but if it gets these extra external parts of the human body disconnected? That's great!

@Ladygray Common sense should tell everyone exactly what that study indicates. Brain cancer rates are surging. What else out there would cause such an increase?
I still have my land line and keep my cell at a distance. I've always said put the phone down get outside and move!

I read about this researcher and his conclusions several weeks ago. For those interested in learning more, Google Joel M Moskowitz, Ph.D
Looks like he has been publishing re research on electromagnetic radiation since 2009.

Don't be on your cellphone 24/7, then. People don't have to carry it with them if they're at home. Sometimes you need to take a break from the phone.

If I believed every study that came out about cell phone technology's effects on my health I would be insane. Studies are just that...they examine possibilities which are not factual but observational.

I really think the majority (not all--I said the majority) of people don't talk excessive amounts on a cell phone, so it is not near their brains. Most people text or are using their phones as a mobile device aka using apps, listening to music with wireless buds, etc.

that is the least of my worries--not going to add one more silly thing the very long list I have!!!

I see phones being used for texting more than talking in the last few years. So it seems as if people (particularly young people) are getting less exposure than years ago.
I no longer hold the phone up to my ear to talk because my hearing aids are connected to the phone by Bluetooth. So I just hold the phone in front of me to speak, and I hear the other person in my ear. Really neat, but I'm sure there are studies about Bluetooth, too. Can't worry about everything.
