Last week I spent a week in the Blue Ridge Mtns. visiting my daughters. Before I left I noticed an odd feeling in my lower left jaw. It got slightly worse, so Thurs. AM I called and made an appt. to see him today at 4:30. Well, by Thurs. PM it virtually exploded .... pain, swelling, jaw bone hurting, glands on that side swollen. I had a feeling it was an abscess although I've never had one before. The only think I can liken it to is a dry socket I had several years ago. I happened to take Vicodin with me in case my knee acted up. I took one before I went to bed. It helped, but not a whole lot. I spent several nights awake. I left earlier than I had planned because I had to get to my dentist. When I got home I took a 500 mg. capsule of Amoxicillin as I have it on hand to take before any dental procedure. It has alleviated it a bit, but I'm going to see him at 1 today. Gosh I hope he doesn't poke around at it, or I'll go through the roof. I'm suspicious he'll give me an Rx for 250 Amox. and once it's cleared up, send me to an Endodontist for a root canal. My daughter wanted me to go to a walk in medical clinic when I was down there, but all I could think of was getting home.

I am exhausted ..... All I want to do is sleep.
