Different place--same answer--need 2 --can't even write the word. Both ears are bad.

If you have a Sam's Club near by with a hearing center, you may want to check them out too. If they show that you need aids, I highly recommend you price theirs. My insurance does not cover them they are very reasonable.

I do hope that you can find what you need, at an affordable price. ![]()

I'm sorry @halfpint1 but glad you went for a second opinion. You've been through alot with hearing noises and anxiety. I hope you find relief soon xo

I hope you get them and adjust as easily as I did. They made a great change in my quality of life and took very little adjustment. I only hope that you have the same experience.

@halfpint1 If two doctors have told you to get hearing aids I would really start looking into it. Plenty of people need them and it's perfectly normal, so nothing to feel bad about. I know a number of people have offered options on lowering the cost.
Hearing loss can happen slowly so you might not even realize how much it would improve your life with some help. Not sure at all that it will help with the noise that you regularly hear, but if it turns out it's tinnitus they might actually help.

@halfpint1 My Dr has a trial period for hearing aids. Some brands are different than others.
I hope they help you!

Would you have gotten a second I test if your doctor told you you needed eyeglasses? I don’t understand the taboo about hearing aids. I would be totally lost without my glasses, I ‘m just so thankful that there is something available that corrects my vision.

I agree!
I have a close friend who got a hearing aid a year or so ago, and she's so happy. She said she didn't realize what she had been missing. I didn't even know she was wearing one until she showed me and told me all about it.
You're right - It's really no different than eyeglasses. I'd rather not need them, but I'm grateful to have them!

I don't know if anyone has heard this before but my PC told me hearing loss can effect you cognitively. She said the brain is working so hard at trying to process what is being said that you are not as sharp cognitively.
