Re: Time to get ready for tomorrow

@Trinity11

I've talked with 4 people today ranging from hospital admittance to scheduling at the Dr's office, as well as a nurse that was there yesterday during the impromptu gathering of medical staff.  I don't have a definitive answer yet.  Is anything ever easy (or quick) these days?  I don't think they will but if they tell me to come in tomorrow, I'll tell them I can't.  Monday will be my earliest availability.  I don't want to miss Eathan's memorial service on Sat.

I had no idea heart issues could be caused by back pain Smiley Surprised  I had upper back pain with my heart attack tho.  I will mention the diabetic aspect but I hate nothing more than morning appts.  NOT a morning person (g)

Where was your back pain @Trinity11 ?  Mine is lower back/upper but* and is most likely from falling off of too many horses (on purpose) and riding bareback a lot (not having stirrups for support).

Actually, heart issues are not caused by the back pain, it's the reverse. My back pain now is from statins. I find they really cause a lot of pain but I still know I need to take them.

I hope you can get the angioplasty as soon as possible as I really do think you will feel better afterwards. Your energy will increase and you will see the difference. Everyone I know tells me that has stents, they felt better afterwards @monicakm .

Re: Time to get ready for tomorrow

Thanks @Trinity11   I must have misread your post about HA and back pain.

I got on statins once and could not tolerate them at all.  So I tried Red Rice Yeast.  SAME acute and chonic all over body pain Smiley Surprised

I talked to several people at the Dr's office and hospital.  Not exactly sure but it sounds like someone thought I expected Texas Workforce to pay for the procedure Smiley Surprised  Texas Workforce has nothing to do with this and I have no idea how anyone ever got that idea.  So whoever thought that, called TWC and they were like "who?  what?"  The hospital employee just took it upon herself to cancel the procedure Smiley Sad  Gee thanks!  It's ok tho.  I'll for sure get to make it to Ethan's memorial.  I'll start calling tomorrow and rattling chains till someone reschedules the operation.

the nurse that came to the receptionist desk to try to explain what happened,  said " ...but you look very nice so go enjoy some lunch and we will try to get you rescheduled".

@monicakm   Aren't compliments from new or familiar people the best? I bet you look pretty and glam everyday Smiley Happy!  I think that the cancellation of the procedure is truly a blessing in disguise, because as you said you will now be able to attend the memorial and be there for your grandkids, their friends and the family of the young man who sadly passed away.

The compliment was indeed nice.  I haven't had one in a while...well that might have something to do with not being out and about as much as I used to.  I need to get out more.  I've really gotten in a bad habit of staying home.  It's just so easy with everything available online or for pickup.  Just like yesterday at Ulta.  We pulled up, let them know which spot we were in and they brought us the blush.

Re: Time to get ready for tomorrow

@monicakm   I can definitely relate to staying home a lot- I think it all started during the pandemic  for me when everyone was encouraged to shelter in place.  I've found that if i get ready early in the day and do my hair and makeup and do my chores, then I'm energized and ready to run errands or go for walks in my neighborhood and city. I think that it would be good for you to go outside- it could be playing with your dogs in the backyard or it could be going for an early evening or morning time  walk with your husband Smiley Happy .

Its all about little steps in terms of getting out there- and walking is great for the heart and lungs and some sunlight helps with regulating vitamin D levels that can decline a little if someone is indoors regularly.  Also, walking out and about is a great built in excuse for putting an outfit together- an athleisure look with cute sneakers and joggers and more. Smiley Happy Feeling the sun on my face and the wind in my hair during a nice walk is great- I think you'll like it too and slow and steady wins the race Smiley Happy

You are 110% right.  I wish I could be you and anyone else who has the fortitude to get out there and move.  My biggest issue is the heat.  It's intolerable for me and my MS.  It doesn't always affect my MS but I'm highly "allergic" to it.  Maybe sensitive is a better word but I can't tolerate it.  Texas is not the place to be if you have issues with the heat.  And then we have the FM and lack of pain tolerance.  See?  I wasn't kidding about being a sissy.  I have walked for exercise but that was before the lower back pain and during weather where I wasn't going to have a heat stroke.  The bike I got back in Oct (but DH didn't get it put together till a month ago) is just what the Dr ordered.  I have it parked in front of my 75" football tv and sometimes watch YT and sometimes bike or horse riding trails where the rider has a GoPro on their helmets and it looks like you're on the trail with them.  Oh and sometimes I'll just have a static scene with music or drone scenery of different countries.  There is so much to choose from on YT.  Maybe I'll use my walker and walk outside before the 70 weather sets in next month.  Luckily, I live on a glorified cow trail so the chances of anyone seeing me is very low Smiley Happy   Oops, the road is too rough for that.  I'll just use my driveway.  It's looooong!  If I'm going to walk outside and it's over 60 degrees, I'll be in as little clothing as possible and be legal!  This is the time of year I like to sit with my face aimed at the sun.  It does feel so good!  Mom has always been big on sunshine and bare feet in the green grass Smiley Happy

My Vit D3 levels are very good.  I have to keep that up because of my MS.  I take 30,000IUs/daily.

@monicakm   You're so right- the Texas heat is hotter than most places! I wouldn't want you to risk your health in the heat at all.  I get worn out in the heat because I run pretty hot in temperature already- I prefer cold or breezy days.  Your exercise bike is a fantastic investment Smiley HappyHeart- its low impact, you don't have to ride it for very long, and you can do it in an air conditioned house and the trail videos make it really fun.  The pandemic made me borderline agoraphobic (fear of being outside) for a while. I became comfortable with going outdoors again by giving myself little challenges to go around the block, then walk to a grocery store a half a mile away and then walk two or so miles up and around the blocks and hills- it was all gradual.

My vitamin D levels can get low, so I make sure to go outside and eat a lot of calcium rich foods- good for you for taking vitamin D supplements Smiley Happy.  Your driveway sounds like another good option for walking too and your walker is an excellent aid in keeping balance and providing support in walking. I'm glad that you're really self aware in monitoring your health and wellness- you go to your PT and you go to your check ups and you live a great lifestyle.   Smiley HappyHeart
