Thoughts for New Year's Dieters

It's true, better to get it off now than wait until later.

Wonder how they got that tire off of the cow?

Better yet:  How did they get it ON ?

Re: Thoughts for New Year's Dieters

@Kachina624   I eat the same things 365 days of the year.

If I go out or attend an event, I bring my own food.

I yo-yo dieted for 40 years and KNEW I didn't have it "in me" to ever "diet" again and "take weight off that I recently gained."  My weight has remained the same for over 18 years.

What I do is not for everyone (or anyone else) but when I try on clothes (like I did for a wedding I'm attending in March for my granddaughter) from years ago and everything still fits me, my efforts are worth it!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE MAKING THE EFFORT TO LOSE THOSE "HOLIDAY POUNDS."

Re: Thoughts for New Year's Dieters

[ Edited ]

I'm just glad that this issue isn't a part of my New Year's resolutions anymore. I never had a weight issue until I developed lung cancer in 2004. My body broke and became very insulin resistant. My body could not handle injesting all those carbs anymore (sugars/grains) and the seed oils.

So for about 20 years I kept gaining weight no matter what I did to change the situation. I didn't want to believe injesting carbs was the problem (even fruits are bowls of sugar - fruit today are hybridized to be much more sweet - it is not the same fruit of thousands of yrs ago)...

...until I did.

Changing our lifestyle in 2018 was the key...

Having reached & maintained my goal weight after a 120+ lb loss is a great feeling.

I wish everyone the best if they are currently on a weight loss journey or about to start one. Have a support system in place.  DH and I made our lifestyle change together.  Smiley Happy

Re: Thoughts for New Year's Dieters

@pdlinda Would u be willing to share what u eat. I am so tired of trying to figure out meals for one within my budget that will be healthy. I dont like red meat. I am 40 minutes away from a grocery store so having fresh produce for salads has limits. I cannot keep sweets in the house (my weakness)  Thank you.  If u do not feel comfortable sharing I understand.

Good grief!  Is the cow with the tire girdle for real? I keep looking at that pic and have a hard time figuring out how it could wind up in that situation.

Congads to you on your weight loss and keeping it off for so many years ! Great job !  For many many years I ate whatever and just thought it was ok as long as I took my diabetes meds. As I have noted here before it took a staph infection post right knee replacement in 2019 and having to go through a host of antibotics then a repeat replacement in 2020 during the pandemic for me to wake up and smell the roses so now I eat the same breakfast and the same salad for dinner everynight since 2020 and I have gone from about 170 down to 127. I don't eat lunch. With my highest weight ever of 254 it's a great feeling and I have so much more energy.

You have to make the decision to improve your health and yes it's worth it. I can wear a small and sometimes xtra small.  I have given away clothes to the Goodwill from size med up to a size 1x that I had for years.  Again great job losing the weight !
