And yes, they knew.

Re: They Knew about the Asbestos

Last week I heard a statement J&J issued saying their baby powder has never contained asbestos.  Makes me wonder about other body powders on the market, most of which are used for a longer duration than baby powder.

Wow.  I had no idea.  So glad I never used it on my babies or myself.

I can't help but think if there was really asbestos in baby powder, there would be many cases of mesothelioma but the only ones you ever hear of are men (usually) who worked in industrial setting where asbestos was in use heavily.  I can't help but feel any danger from baby powder is negligible.   I think this is all about lawyers trying to milk a large corporation.

I use only the ones that contain only pure cornstarch and NO talc.

Re: They Knew about the Asbestos

This is beyond horrific.

We have scented tampons and pads, and a big push for FDS sprays that contained powder, too, back in the '70's if I remember.  I don't know if they still sell those.

Ovarian cancer among other "female cancers" may very well be linked to these other things, not just baby powder.

I think it is a crime that any product can be promoted under the radar so to speak-who is minding all of this??

I thought this issue of the dangers with certain brands of talc is old news. At least it is for me.

@SilleeMee.  The issue now is not talc, but asbestos.

There's nothing bad about most talc. However, there is certain talc that contains asbestos and some of this talc is found in certain hygiene products...i.e. J&J Baby Powder.  It's not news to me.
