Re: The Real Truth About Health

@sidsmom   I was especially interested in these presentation as you had mentioned them.  I was impressed.  Pam Popper, such an inspiration....so articulate and passionate about her lifework. She obviously walks her talk.  I'll have to check out her information.  Brenda Davis is off the charts! Encyclopedic knowledge....she can dredge up scientific data like her breath!  Did you hear the question at the end of the last panel presentation where someone asked what she typically ate.....I want to plant myself at her table!  And that cereal!!!! I found the recipe on her website...one of my changes is to start sprouting! She fed this breakfast to Dr. Klapper (I believe) while he stayed at her house....and they started with a helping of greens before that glorious creation!  (Almost makes me want to start eating breakfast....but I could have it for dinner!)

Yea, I find it frustrating hearing people placing limitations on themselves..and I could mention many.  I've learned to just let it roll....cultural conditioning is a tough challenge.  I respect and move on.  Love community and dream of change.  Think of Will Tuttle and his overwhelming goals....he is educating the world.  Unfortunately, some will never hear the message, but that doesn't stop our own evolution!  Plant strong Sids!

@phoenixbrd @BExplorer

I love how y'all are so engaged with this lifestyle.

I saw someone say, jokingly, about those of us who

are adopting this sustainable diet/lifestyle.

Hahaha @sidsmom , I love that!

@phoenixbrd I searched for Will Tuttle's TRTAH presentation but only came up with the entire day's worth of lectures so instead I watched a presentation he gave at Google about the World Peace Diet. I enjoyed listening to him. I will admit that I haven't listened to much about the ethical reasons to be vegan because I just didn't want to think about the cruelty.  He wasn't gruesome about that, but definitely thought-provoking and really reinforced my desire to keep clear of animal products.

i have no problem not eating animals (I call it exactly what it is 😬). My fails have been dairy. As far as cancer goes it seems to me that dairy is even worse, and eating animal secretions-ewww, but for some reason that continues to be somewhat of a struggle but I am improving.

Anyway, I truly enjoy reading posts from both of you @sidsmom and @phoenixbrd for the inspiration, knowledge, and resources you both provide.  😊

Re: The Real Truth About Health

@BExplorer   You are doing great!  It usually takes a long time to integrate all the wonderful life-affirming reasons why we live this lifestyle.  Dairy is one of the cruelest unhealthy industries....given that there is also a very real reason why it is the usually the last animal product to release.  It is very addictive because it contains casomorphins which acts the same as heroin receptors on your brain.  Lots of people start for health reasons and gently open the door to the reality of animal agriculture.  Be kind with yourself.

Love your willingness and motivation....
