Re: The Lesser Chemo Treatments

We saw her tonight, she and her husband and the two 9 year old girls came for Halloween, all dressed up in costumes.  I asked Darla if her hair is growing back, no, it's not, it's very short and thin, guess this lesser treatments are still not good for the hair. We thought it wouldn't affect it. She said she is tired beyond belief. But so very busy.

The twins are Autistic and can be difficult.

Re: The Lesser Chemo Treatments

Chemo #6 was yesterday.  She's really having a hard time, says her bed has a magnet wanting her in it, but she has so much to do etc. She is so concerned also about her girls, nine years old and Autistic, and they are feeling sad because they don't have real friends. Anyway, yesterday she had a bad day, and hope that can stay in the past.

There are more chemo sessions though every 3 weeks. They are not as long as before, but still.

Anyway, she is struggling. Thanks for caring.

Re: The Lesser Chemo Treatments

@gloriajean @I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's struggle with the chemo. It must be very difficult to be so exhausted and still need to care for her children that need extra care. Can she hire or get someone to help with her children so she can rest. I would think it would be important because she is fighting for her life. Sometimes, you need to realize you can only do so much.

Can't her husband help her with the children to let her rest. I don't know the situation but if she is worn down that doesn't help to get better. Wishing her well.

Re: The Lesser Chemo Treatments

@Kabella --I just now saw this post from you---wow--your cancer zombies were way more nasty than mine. I did have 6-8 nodes removed on my left side--the cancer side-- but nothing elsewhere. Went thru those scans before my treatments and luckily, have had none after treatment or in the years following. The cancer I had was lobular so just invaded my breast. Had that bad boy removed!! Onward and upward!!!

Re: The Lesser Chemo Treatments

@gloriajean --well, that is to be expected---unfortunately with the treatment, you just can't know what to expect, and with 2 kids--well times that by 100. Wish I had a secret weapon to zap away the bad times----Kids will be fine---but I know at their age things always come up--I guess gentle explanations are in order--Mommy can't be exposed to strange germs and such. Hard, I know----wish Darla my best!!!

She is looking to hire someone, and her husband works at home, he's an electrical engeneer, he's in the basement working and does come up when needed. He helps what he can, but he is working.

Some good news is that yesterday she had a MRI on her breast and was told there's 95% chance no more cancer will return!  I'm hoping that's for the rest of her body too!!

Thanksgiving is at her house, we will bring food, she will make a Tofurkey and wild rice dressings,
