for covid.  If your child gets the symptoms would you have him/her tested?  Some moms are blocking testing so the schools the kids attend won't close.  A sort of pact among moms.

I would want to know for the sake of my child.

Are they sending their sick children to school with suspected covid or they treating the sick children at home without bothering to get them tested/treated by a doctor?

Thankfully, I do not live in a place where people are that selfish, mean and uneducated about Covid 19 or so unconcerend about the health of their own children or the community.  If I had a young child and my child had possible symptoms or had possibly been exposed to Covid 19, you would not be able stop me from getting my child tested asap.  And until my kid was tested and the test came back negative, our whole family would be in lockdown and we would tell the school, of course.  That's because I would want the school to take whatever measure they deemed necessary to protect other children but mostly to protect the teachers and school staff.  it's rare but some kids who have the virus develop a very serious neurological condition so there's no way that I would not want to know.  Having said that, this actually happned at my grandaughter's preschool.  One of the kids had symptoms after returning from trip to FL.  The rule was that after going out of state to a state like that, they should self quarantine for 10 days but the parents didn't do that.  At least they were responsible when the kid came down with a cold.....which is what it ended up being.  Still, the school had to close until the results were in, I think it was 3 missed school days and then the weekend.    I don't know how everyone handled it but my daughter and her husband work from home so they self quarantined until they got the "all clear".  They just did not want to put anyone at risk.  I wonder haw those despicable women would feel if a child took the virus home and a granparent or a sibling with cystic fibrosis got it and died.  Actually, they probably would not feel anything it all.

And this pearl of information is coming from where?

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

If I had school aged children, yes, I would test them.

I volunteered in an elementary school before COVID hit, and I know for sure that many parents send their kids to school when they are sick..

Some of the kids were so sick, they could hardly stand up and walk.  The nurse tried to call the parents, but either they won't answer, or say they cannot leave work to pick the child up.  The poor kid has to lay in the " sick bay" all day.  I feel so bad for these kids.

The school nurse was upset about them as she has a rare form of cancer and gets chemo treatments.  She didn't want to catch what the child had.

@chessylady  I don't remember that issue being part of the article.

I do remember that this was in Utah and the idea was to keep the schools open as well as athletics.

I would still want to know.

The risk of "children" dying from the ******* Virus are about the same as me dying of young age. Next to zero. With a 0.2% of dying, that is probably lower than then them dying of the flu.

I see many things worse than a "child" getting sick in this shutdown scenario. Children have always gotten sick, and with this ***** Virus? Sure they might get sick, but I am guessing those playing off the children, are the same ones that say: "Oh but they will pass it on to Gramps and Gramms"!

Guess nowadays "children" should all be put in a protective bubble. Slides are too dangerous/teeter totters/jungle jim /a merry-go-round. Now it's the virus with the 99.8% chance of surviving if contracted. Guess if it ain't 100%, keep 'em locked up and buy that bubble?   SMH

Too bad @chrystaltree 's daughter lives in an area filled with mean, selfish an uneducated people (those are her words, not mine). Although I see no need to be that harsh in judging other parents, I'd certainly have my child tested. I think some people have used up all their vacation/ personal hours at work, and they need the paycheck so they are reluctant to get tested.

Selfish, mean, and uneducated? Another ridiculous post by someone who probably has little knowledge of the subject matter. The kid had a cold, good grief. Acting like your grandchild is going to die of the virus is beyond crazy, check the statistics.
