Teleconfering on Medical Office Visits

My Drs office that I go to about ever 3 weeks is doing teleconference with me on the day of my regular office visit.

I have family members who always work from home so this isn't anything new for them.

However, I've never done it for a Drs office visit.  I do facetime all of the time with family, I assume it's the same thing.

I have to wonder if the Drs are going to charge the insurance companies the same thing as a regular office visit.

Dollars to donuts they will.

I've always been leery of giving out much info on the phone or internet.

This seems like it's all just 'ripe' for people who are crooks.

I did this last week at the time I had an appointment scheduled.  Didn't think anything about it.  Doubt the world is interested in my blood pressure.

When I go to the Doctor, everything discussed is entered into the computer. Blood pressure, cholesterol, etc entered and prescriptions sent to the pharmacy. Nothing is private.

Of course they're going to charge, why wouldn't they.

I have one tomorrow and I'm very thankful I don't have to go to the office.

Re: Teleconfering on Medical Office Visits

you are getting yr Dr's time and knowledge for which they should be reimbursed.

and you are not exposing yourself to possible infections, or the other way around

Why shouldn't they get paid?  They're still performing a service for you.

You don't seem to be the type to be leery about giving out too  much personal information online either.

Not true, I had my first appointment this morning with my Rheumatologist and she mentioned that it was no charge.
