About a year ago I was frantic about this meds as it has so many serious side effects. I had a-typical cells in my left breast and had I not had my mamm. on time, it could have turned into cancer, so was very thankful that the surgery was done well, and no more bad cells are there. The head of oncology in Georgetown U.H. as well as the surgeon both highly recommended I go on this. This meds., if being on it for 5 years, there is a 50% chance that one will not get cancer. (Only) 50%. I do have 2-3 check ups/year, by oncologist and surgeon, and she also reads my mammograms (coming Nov.) so feel very fortunate. She is specialized in surgery, i.e., breasts, so I am in very good hands and am very very grateful.
Finally started taking it during the winter, when on hiatus, and I just wanted to let you all know that I have no NO side effects after all, and have even lost some weight, instead of gaining it. I decided if after 3 months I was feeling ok, I'd continue, so I am.
In case anybody else has or had this dilemma, I loved to share this very positive news.
Hope all with similar DX I wish you well, and all the Best.
