I belong to Better Help, which is a online therapy service, I spoke to someone fro close to a year and it went no where, I change in July and since then the therapist rebooked three appointment, one at the very last minute and is now taking a 3 week vacation

I told her politely of my dissatisfaction with her and found another provider at the service, I am at a point in my life where I look out for me and my husband.

I am pretty sure I did the right thing

@I am still oxox, You surely did the right thing.  That person is at best nonprofessional.  You can do better.  You deserve better.  Best wishes to you.

For good outcomes with therapy, there has to be a good fit. The therapist has to be as dedicated as the client. I'm pretty sure you did the right thing, too. Good for you for advocating for yourself and your husband.

@I am still oxox @What type of therapy did the first therapist use? Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? Different therapeutic approaches fit different client needs. When you choose your new therapist, ask what type of therapy will be used.

@I am still oxox

You were too tolerant from your description of her unprofessional behavior.  The year long lack of progress is also an indicator....she should have said the fit was not good and recommended someone she thought would be a better fit.

I have always told my team members and later on my career clients and college students: Trust your gut !

In my many careers, whenever I discounted my feelings, I paid a price.

@jlkz I am sorry but you missed a detail I have only been speaking to her since mid July, still long enough to make a decision about her lack of professionalism

@I am still oxox @Your second therapist viewed her work more like a part time job, rather than a career.

I am old fashion. Therapy is either in person,

tele-visit or by phone.

Please go back to the doctor who recommended you go to therapy and find someone else.

I went to the website, and did the questions. I hope the therapist does a proper intake interview.

I do hope you are able to find someone who can help.

@Nuttmeg This is by phone, I am not sure how you hink I was communicating with the  therapist and no one reccomended that I see a theapist, I would rather not do an in person session most of those around here stoped when Covid started
