Mockingbird Recalls Popular Single-to-Double Strollers

At least 138 reports of cracked frames prompted the stroller recall.

Popular baby stroller company Mockingbird has announced a voluntary recall of about 149,000 of its single-to-double strollers, the company wrote in an email Thursday morning.

The recall comes after at least 138 reports of cracked frames and eight reports of child injuries, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). CPSC says that the lower side of the frame can crack, leaving infants and small children riding the stroller at risk for falling.

The company will not be offering refunds. Instead, Mockingbird is advising people with strollers with lot numbers 20091 to 22602 to stop using them until they get a company-provided frame reinforcement kit. The kit will come with two frame clamps that caregivers can attach to the side of the stroller. Caregivers can find the five-digit lot number on the side of the stroller. Mockingbird set up a page with a diagram to help people find the lot number and request a frame reinforcement kit.

Mockingbird is asking people who received the email but gifted the stroller to forward it to the recipient.

***************************

Approximately 149,000 strollers are being recalled because they pose a fall risk to children, according to a notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Mockingbird is recalling single-to-double strollers because the lower side of the stroller frame can crack, posing the fall risk. CPSC has received 138 reports of cracks in the frame, including eight injuries involving cuts, scratches, or bruising to children in the strollers.

The recall involves Mockingbird Single-to-Double Strollers, which are made of aluminum and are black or silver in color. The seats are black, and the canopies are available in black, light blue, dark blue, pink and light green. The recall only includes lot numbers between 20091 and 22602. The lot number is a five-digit number that can be found on the white product label located on the inner left side of the stroller frame near the top of the basket.

The strollers were sold at Target stores nationwide and online at  from March 2020 to September 2022 for between $395 and $450.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Single-to-Double strollers and contact Mockingbird to receive a free frame reinforcement kit, which includes two frame clamps that attach to the sides of the stroller to reinforce the frame. Mockingbird is contacting all known purchasers directly, according to CPSC.

Consumers can reach Mockingbird toll-free at 877-274-3240 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, email  and click on “Product Recall” at the bottom of the page for more information.

@gertrudecloset   Thanks for posting it again.  I copied the information the first time to get in touch with the company.

They are offering a free kit to fix the issue.

I thought I had lost my mind @haddon9 !  Then I realized the links within might have gotten it poofed.  It's important, but I realize that the Q doesn't like links to outside companies and that totally didn't register with me when I posted the story.

Re: Stroller Recall

[ Edited ]

@gertrudecloset I'm sure that's the reason why...a link to another retailer.  The Q sells strollers but it is important for people to know since it is a popular stroller.

ET: on second look most of the strollers that the Q sells are for dolls!
