I noticed it's been a couple of years since this topic has been posted.
DH has been taking simvastatin for 10 years and, all of a sudden, about 4 months ago, started experiencing severe enough chronic calf pain that affects his ability to walk! He's an active person, loves to workout, etc., and it breaks my heart to see him like this. He looks like a 95-year-old person the way he walks.
I've already done some preliminary research and it seems likely that simvastatin is the cause of this pain. (He's healthy otherwise.)
Have any of you had similar experience that you can share with muscle pain, or experience with red yeast rice, or any other alternative treatments for high cholesterol? TIA!
