If this has already been discussed, please lead me to the thread, but if not, I am wondering about SS disability. My husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers in March of this year, and he was forced to retire in July at age 62. His symptoms are obvious but not severe yet. We have started the process of applying for disability and have been told to get a 2nd opinion from a doctor they (social security) named. We will have that appointment this weekend. I have recently been told it is quite a process to get disability. It is more than getting doctors' recommendations. Well, my husband has had an MRI, EEG and specific blood work. What else can be done to prove his condition? I am preparing for a battle from what others have told me. Who has been through this? Thanks in advance.
