Individuals make choices. Friends and family are many times unwilling victims. Sad!

Last figure I heard on Opioid deaths was 62,000.

I have very little sympathy for people who die due to smoking related issues. Everyone knows it is bad for your health. Quit or deal with the consequences. Unfortunately I see young people around here smoking. Sometimes I say something to them about it, but I am sure it does no good. I can not fathom why anyone in this day and age would begin to smoke cigarettes.

While it does cause health issues, I do not think it will ever rank as high as these others. My concern is the number of those getting addicted to legally prescribed Opioids, which is relatively new, and growing every day.

I have empathy for some who choose to smoke, but my sympathy goes to loved ones that become the victims of their loved ones choice.

I used to work in the pathology department at a hospital...you know, the place next to the morgue. I have seen stuff you don't even want to know about much less see it. The hospital is full of people in bad health due to smoking. I was a smoker for over 40 years and lived my life in the big denial mode. I finally quit using Chantix.

Non-smoker here and proud of it.
No smelly clothes, hair, anything. YUCK.

What needs to be stated here is whether this includes ALL forms, including heroin, etc., as there as been a huge resurgence of heroin in this country.
The long term effects of smoking are by far going to take more lives.

Well we all have a 100% chance of dying. A large number of people have bad habits that lead to bad health. I don't consider any of them to be my business.
