Urgent care? Really? Not an urgent need. Keep your appointment with your derm. I'm sure when you told the office what your symptoms are they recognized this is NOT urgent. Google this and see what you find.

@KatieB,

I highly suggest showing these to your medical doctor or dermatologist ASAP, to determine if they are actinic keratosis.   If so that is a pre cancerous condition that needs to be diagnosed and treated now.

I had 3 of these spots shave biopsied on August 1st, and all came back as pre cancers.   Two days ago I was back to have them treated by freezing with liquid nitrogen.   If I showed you a picture of my hands at this moment, you would see 5 blisters on my left hand and 7 on my right hand, as the dermatologist found 9 other tiny spots to freeze besides the 3 I was following up on.   Every one of them looked like a tiny speck of dry skin.

Actinic keratosis can progress into squamous cell cancers; I had one treated in March that was pre squamous.   It needed a deep freezing with liquid nitrogen, and I don’t wish that on anyone.   Advanced squamous requires a surgical procedure.

Best wishes to you.

I probably will not go to an urgent care facility.  I don't consider it an emergency or anything like that..  As long as it does not spread any more...  I do have an appt for my wellness exam in mid September and then the dermatologist appt in mid October...  Maybe the primary care physician will have some idea of what it is, but I kind of doubt it.  She's not much of a doctor in my opinion, at least she wasn't when I saw her 2 years ago.  I had to practically beg her to get a diabetes test scheduled...  I also checked in the next town over for a dermatologist appt, they were booked until mid OCT too...

Make an appointment with your primary care physician. She or he may be able to expedite an appointment with a derm if it might be serious. If the primary care doctor thinks it could be pre-cancerous, you don't want to wait for October for a biopsy if you don't have to.

For those who commented that it is not an urgent care need....the only person who determines that is the person walking in the door, asking to see a doctor and seeks medical treatment.

It was just my opinion and possibly a suggestion, don't shoot the messenger.

I've had almost every type of keratosis over the years - this looks like actinic keratosis.  I'm sorry you have to wait so long to see the dermatogolist.  They seem to be in short supply or overbooked everywhere.  My former derm was a 6 month wait - drove me crazy so I found a new derm. hated to leave my old one but the long wait was too much plas once you get get in for the appointment it was usually another long wait sitting in his lobby - sometimes for up to 2 hours.

Call the Dr's office to let them know you're emailing those pictures to get an opinion if it's OK to wait for your appt or if you need to be seen asap. Best Wishes @KatieB

But whatever it is, as a WEN user, I'd get out my bottle of WEN Tea Tree oil and rub oil into those spots a few times a day.

Tea Tree has anti bacterial, anti fungal, and anti viral properties.

Can't hurt, unless you happen to have a sensitivity to some ingredient.

Dont use WEN and never will.....

@KatieB  Just an FYI, tea tree oil can be bought from other sources. Oregano oil is extremely good, too. Our family had had wonderful results with it. Of course, you’re wondering what the source is of your skin marks.

@KatieB

Many years ago I found some at Walmart. That little bottle lasted a long time. I hope you find something that helps you.
