Single Care prescription cards

Anybody  have one of these discount pharmacy cards?

They seem to good to be true. Are they FREE ? Or some kind of fee attached to join ? What's the catch ?

Re: Single Care prescription cards

My understanding is that both GoodRX & Singlecare are free and that you don't necessarily need the card.  GoodRX has an app where you can find out the prices using their app you can get at different pharmacies.  You just show the pharmacist that price on your phone.  At least that's how I think it works.  I've never needed to use them.  I expect Singlecare operates the same way.

ETA-

I can't use a smartphone b/c I have severe dexterity issues and I can't physically hold onto a smartphone. Flip phones are the only kind I can hold in my hands.

Good RX will send you a card once you sign up, but you dont need it, just print out the coupon for your RX and present that. Last time I had RX filled it was actually less from my regular RX plan than Good RX, I was very surprised

I see Good RX cards on counters free for the taking all over the place.  My doctor's  office even has them out. The only thing I've ever used it for was getting meds for a dog.

My husband uses Good RX for some of his prescriptions . He saved over $700 last year .  He still uses his Part D for most meds , the pharmacy always checks both and bills it to the cheapest plan .  So nice . We use Walmart .

I use single care and good Rx to compare prices to my insurance, I have saved several dollars by comparison shopping.  I can't hurt to compare. You just never know!

Re: Single Care prescription cards

I have used GoodRx for prescription cough syrup or antibiotics for myself. Also saved me some money on vaccinations that weren't covered by Medicare at the time.

And, saved some money on pet meds too. I check Chewy and GoodRx for the best price.

Never had a problem at any pharmacy. I have no idea how they can have better prices than my Part D without a membership fee!

Re: Single Care prescription cards

I keep a Part D prescription insurance just to placate SS.  I switched from the silver script choice plan that was going to go up to 40 a month and they never paid for nothing anyway. I always had to pay the whole amount , so, I switched to silver script super saver plan that is 9.80 a month.

Now, I'm wondering if Single care could help me out , but, I can't figure out what's in it for them ? If there is no enrollment charge or fee of any kind why do they care if you save money on drugs ?
