Re: Silver Sneakers - anyone use this program?

@amyb

Says like you have your own gym!  I don't have much here at home or the space to do much exercising.  I don't really enjoy being in a gym or exercise place atmosphere because I am a homebody and being around a bunch of people makes me nervous.  I just thought this might make me do something more and get a little bit more active.  Thanks!

I use it regularly. My insurance calls it Renew Active. It allows me to join up to 5 gyms at a time. I currently use 2. I go for Water Zumba, Water Aerobics and. Silver Sneakers Class at one gym and use the machines and walking track at the other. I can use any of the gyms equipment anytime and as much as I want.

@Meowingkitty

Wow --- that takes a lot of time thought, doesn't it?  I have time I guess but I don't really want to invest that much time.  Do you have that 30 and out thing?  Thanks so much for your post!

I use the SS online live classes for strength training, yoga, cardio. Like them!

Oh, I might be interest in this.  Are these classes free or are there added charges?  Can you do them any time you want  -- or do you have to do them at certain times?  Thanks.

@AngelPuppy1  My insurance calls it Renew Active.  I only use the gym's FREE membership for its snack shop, olympic size heated pool & my very own weight lifting "personal" trainer.

@Mz iMac

Did you get your weight trainer there at the Renew Active place?  How often do you do that?  Thanks!!

Check first to make sure the gym accepts Silver Sneakers.  Mine doesn't.

Yes, I will make sure.  Thanks!

We have it thru Aetna Medicare too but my DH and I much prefer excercising at home, much more convenient and sanitary using our own equipment.

@Shelbelle

Yes, I thought about that sanitary thing.  I don't really have much space at all at home to do much.  Thanks!
