Re: Side effects of osteo med

@Witchy Woman

Talk to your  doctor about about changing the dosage of this medicine.

I had a bone scan and was told to start taking the 35mg of Fosamax again. I had terrible joint pain, and the pain stopped when I no longer took the medication.

I will see what happens, and find other solutions to my problem.

@Nuttmeg

My weekly pill is 70 mg, but I'm not going to take this med (Fosamax) even if she lowers the dosage.

Too much pain.

I'll be seeing her in a couple of weeks, and will go from there.

Like you, my goal is something other than medication.

SilleeMee,  I guess I should of explained this better.  On the Bulksupplements of the Bamboo Extract there is a 100 grams and a 250 grams.  I thought the 250 was a stronger strength or double of the 100 grams.  Both can be ordered in different size bags.  Not sure which one to take.

@kismet

The powder is the same product found in all of the different size bags. All of the bags contain the same strength of powder in them. The dose is 600 mg (about one heaping 1/4 teaspoon). Just buy the smallest bag, 100g (=3.52oz) bag and that way you can try it w/o spending a lot. The 100g bag is about a five-month supply.  The next size up would be the 250g (=8.8oz) bag.

SilleeMee, Okay, thanks.  I thought the 500 was a stronger one because they both came in different sizes.  I'll order it and see what happens.  I had to take a pill for 5 years after cancer and that has caused some bone loss.  Before that my bones were good for my age.

The 500g bag (= 500,000mg) weighs 1.1 pounds. That will last you for over two years. Each once daily serving is 600mg which is about the same as a heaping 1/4 teaspoon.
