Shoe Rec if You Need a Soft Inner Sole

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share my very good fortune via a poster on a thread here. We were talking about need for comfortable shoes and I told her about the dropped metatarsal bone in my left foot, which causes very painful walking in nearly every shoe I own.

For the last 6 years I've worn only one pair of shoes that Ryka sold through the Q, but no long manufacture: to wear them was like walking on marshmallows. It was just what this bone sticking down in my foot needed. But, now these Ryka's have had it and are falling apart.

My dear thread friend recommended a Skecher shoe called GOwalk, which she wears every day, so I purchased a pair: at the Q the item # is A232448 (black - other colors available). I wasn't able to order through the Q, as I needed a wide width, so went directly to Skechers.

Anyway, I just received my second pair(!). If you need a forgiving inner sole, you might think about trying these shoes. MY FEET LOVE THEM!

Re: Shoe Rec if You Need a Soft Inner Sole

All of my running shoes had removable insoles and I could purchase any type or density that I chose for them. Since I have worn custom made orthotics for decades now I never put any insoles inside my shoes. I do not like to recommend a specific brand of shoe because everyone has a different shaped foot and what works for me does not work for many runners that I've met over the decades.

Might be something to look into as most better athletic shoes have removable insoles. I personally never bought any running or other athletic shoes that the insole could not be removed. Now I am not talking about back in the 1960's-early 1970's where a person could not find a "running shoe" per se' I was stuck with what was available during those years, which wasn't much.

For years I ran in my US Army issued boots as that is what I wore during basic training on our long hikes(20-30 miles)and also during our "double time runs", which at times were well over 2 miles with full gear.
