I knew you could get MRSA from something like this but I'm guessing she got an infection that resulted in sepsis.

Re: Sepsis from trying on shoes

I, too, always use a sockie or wear sox to try on shoes. The problem is other people who don't! Whenever I am at a shoe department or a big box store, I invariably see women with bare, dirty feet trying on shoes. I stay away from them if they're in my size, but still. Who knows? Better to go to a store with clerks who bring out new shoes. I think most people would feel they have to be wearing a sock of some kind.

I am the same way when it comes to shoes in the house, but I wear fit flops out all summer.

Re: Sepsis from trying on shoes

I know this subject is about Sepsis, but I thought I  could interject something. I'm sitting here with full blown Flu. Fever, chills, cough, headache all the fun. It's September 6th and I don't think the flu shot is even out yet. My point is with this little girl it could be anything.

Everyone this flu has really scared me, so everyone please be vigilante this year. It looks like it's going to be a bumpy ride.

The flu shot is out and even though you have the flu now and, I'm sorry you do, you can still get the shot so you will have immunity against other strains of the flu. @sweetee2

Re: Sepsis from trying on shoes

My mom taught me that when trying on shoes always wear socks. No one knows who previously tried them on. There is also a potential for contracting plantar warts. Yuck!

Re: Sepsis from trying on shoes

Silleemee thanks for the heads up. Usually  when hubby and I  go over to the Dr. They tell us they don't get their vaccine in until October.  Were deffently going to get our shot as soon as possible. Thank you.
