After a mammogram I've been called back for more advanced imaging and an ultrasound.  What do you say to yourself to calm your worries and fears?

Tell yourself it's very, very common.  Also I try not to worry until I have something confirmed to worry about. I also tell myself that there are medical advancements every day.

I put my faith in God and remind myself that there is a plan for me now. Live in the moment, let go and place your worries in His hands.

I know it is scary.  I had it happen last year.  But, everything turned out fine.  It is common because mammograms are more accurate and catch every little thing.  They have to double check and make sure it is nothing to be concerned about.  Good luck.

@shy bobcat  I was in your shoes  just a few months ago. Got called back for more imaging, and then had to have a biopsy. Needless to say I was terrified but praise God it turned out okay. Turned out to be a group of calcifications. Am praying it all turns out well for you too!

It's happened to me several times. I just look at it as them taking every precaution for my health and that follow-up will likely be insignificant. So far that's been the case.

If worry, and anxiety could change things, it would be temporarily worth it. We know it doesn't though. We do know that positivity has some health rewards, even in difficult times. Go positive.

I can understand why you would have worries. And I hope you get results that put your mind at ease. Wishing you good luck for a good result.

I use Hawaiian HoĘ»oponopono for self talk when my mood gets negative. It's easy to remember. "I"m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you." It's a prayer to release and heal any situation. I'd recommend looking into HoĘ»oponopono. Zero Limits is an interesting book. I've listened to the audiobook version of it and got a lot out of it.

From Wikipedia:

"Ihaleakala Hew Len, co-authored a book with Joe Vitale called Zero Limits[41] referring to Simeona's Hoʻoponopono teachings. Len makes no claim to be a kahuna. In contrast to Simeona's teachings, the book brings the new idea that the main objective of Hoʻoponopono is getting to the "zero state — it's where we have zero limits. No memories. No identity. "[42] To reach this state, which Len called 'Self-I-Dentity thru Ho'oponopono', includes using the mantra, "I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you."[43] It is based on Len's idea of 100% responsibility,[44] taking responsibility for everyone's actions, not only for one's own. If one would take complete responsibility for one's life, then everything one sees, hears, tastes, touches, or in any way experiences would be one's responsibility because it is in one's life.[45] The problem would not be with our external reality, it would be with ourselves. Total Responsibility, according to Hew Len, advocates that everything exists as a projection from inside the human being.

There's also Eckhart Tolle's work that involves remaining in the present moment where there is no room for any worry or thought, only the sense of 'now,' where there is no suffering.

Sorry you are having more testing, but glad you taking care of it promptly.  They are being very careful to get it right.  Don't fret in the meantime.

I have been on this merry go round for a while and learned not to worry until after the biopsy.

Be calm and know all be will be taken care of.

@shy bobcat

I was called back this year.  With 3-D they can do more.  Technology advanced leaving me unaware.  I went back in, the tech told me I had "more dense breast tissue".  I had the 3-D.  Done.  Better method.  End of story.

Sometimes we don't know enough.  Don't let that control your fear.

I can understand your anxiety about your situation.  It’s important to remember that it’s likely nothing to be concerned about.  Many women have dense breasts, which makes diagnosis more difficult.  My radiology group switched to 3-D

mammograms for all, which eliminated my need for an ultrasound every year following my mammogram.  My best wishes to you.
