This is a sensitive topic, so if you are offended by discussing medical issues, you should read no further.

There have been many ads on cable channels for catheters. They infer that these are for people who self catherize. One commercial shows a young woman saying that she was "tired of re-using catheters".

I can't imagine self catheterizing and wonder just why someone would need to do this. I've had this done after surgery, and for a bladder test in the hospital and it was definitely uncomfortable, to say the least. Just thinking about having to do it several times a day gives me the shakes!

This probably won't last long, but I'd appreciate any legitimate information.
