Second root canal done today....

[ Edited ]

Went in at 8AM....done by 10 AM. It is now 1:30 PM and I feel pretty good. Numbness is almost gone. This one was a preventive root canal so I  did not end up with the infection like I had two weeks ago with the other tooth and root canal.  I go in a week or so to my dentist to replace the old 25 year old crown on The  tooth just done with a new one.  They make the crowns right there while you wait! Amazing!

I hope this will give me a  rest-bit from major dental for a while.  I have  one last Mercury filled tooth that has some decay that I will have cleaned and hopefully just need a new composite filling and not a crown....will not know that until he gets in there with the drill. Fingers crossed.

To to all of you who deal with TEETH....I wish you all well. I am just so thankful for skilled people like my root canal dentist, who takes such great care of his patients. The total bill for the Root Canal today was  $750. They gave me. 10% discount as my insurance for the year was all use up. It was well worth the money. You have to take care of your teeth no matter what. the other choice is losing your teeth......

The lovely assistant today named Judy was such a sweetheart and I praised her in front of her boss and told him she was a gem and to hold on to her. Hopefully she got some  brownie points for the praise.  She was the nicest person and so good at what she did.

Thanks for letting me share! Smiley Happy

Glad to hear that this one is going a lot more smoothly than the last one!  Smiley Happy

Hope this is it for 'mouth stuff' for a while.  hehe - I remember thinking that a while back when I had to have some stuff done.  I was ready to be finished with all that stuff for as long as possible.

What a lovely post. Giving credit where credit is due. I have not had a root canal (yet) but I hear they are not nearly as bad as the reputation.

Good for you for taking good care of your teeth.

@SeaMaiden

I just had extensive work done yesterday on almost my entire lower teeth which had a failed bridge.  I won't repeat it as I just posted it here this morning.

I agree wholeheartedly that our teeth have a lot to do with our whole body health.  I have a lot of physical problems that I can't fix.  But I could fix this one and I did.  It wasn't fun . . . it never is.  But although they are almost all covered with bridges, I still have my own teeth.  Bad genetics in my family.

I watched both my parents struggle with dentures in their thirties and I swore I would never wind up like that.  And you're right about how sweet the professionals are too.  I think they're totally aware of how uncomfortable we are.

Have a great day!
