@I am still oxox

I may get kicked off the board 'cause I know I will get reported to the Mods.  That's her game.

I can understand your frustration.  Just remember that you have to take care of you so you can help the ones who need you.  God give you strength to carry on.  Don't forget to wrap those arms around you and give youself a hug.

If ranting helps, rant.  If crying helps, cry.  Just take it easy on yourself, you are carrying a huge load.

This too shall pass.  God comfort you through this ordeal.

His hip replacement is fine which I think I have said over and over again. We are told that femur fracture is independent of the hip. It was initially left to heal which which did not happen some where between early April when we saw his doc for a followup on the fracture and the end of May things went wrong.

Thank you but he can not have PT at the moment the surgery has to heal, VNS will be here once a week, which is all my insusrnae will allow.

Rehab for hips and such is not done it is only for knees under some circumstances, such as a person lving alone

ask the insurance compant what is provided for rehab. did your husband have any sort of rehab after the hip replacement?   my mother had a fractured femur and Dominican Sisters came for 4 weeks after. now she has had her hip replaced and they come in again 2x per week. they do the PT piece, check vitals and the incision.

NOW i know you do not have MEDICARE, but your insuranceprovider and the Ortho surgeon should have an aftercare plan in place. there are risks such as Falls after hip surgery . that is why rehab is important.   did theynot discuss with you?   if they did not its your insurance $$$ make them work for you

I'm sorry for your situation.  Rehab is done after hip replacement surgery though.  My friend had a hip replacement and went straight to a rehab facility from the hospital.  I don't understand why the hospital didn't look into this for your husband.

Perhaps something about your husband's hip replacement was different, but according to Harvard Medical School rehab is necessary.  http://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/physical-therapy-hip-replacement-can-rehab-happen-home-2016051195...

I did a Google search, and every article I found said it is necessary.  I just feel for you having to take care of him and was hoping there was a way for you to get help.  It seems like it will be a slow recovery without any rehab.

I'm sorry to read about your husband's setbacks.  Hopefully he is now on the (proper) mend.  You do have a lot on your plate.  I remember your past posts about your father.

There were numerous helpful suggestions.  I hope you are able to take advantage of some of them.

I think the changing demographics are causing pain for many over 60.  We all will live longer and be increasingly frail.  Traditional caregivers are working, so free help is not available.  We will all have to get ready for buying private care instead of buying things.

The new medical/home service economy is not all bad.  It gives living wages to those at the lower levels of education.
