That looks disgusting.
Anyway, heart patients are usually put on a low sodium diet in the hospital. That probably passes as a low sodium breakfast.
It's all processed food and not healthy for anybody.

It’s hard to tell about the syrup, @Group 5 minus 1, but the diet drink could belong to a visitor.
This could be a low fat/low Na diet, it’s not real clear.

Thank you, everyone, for your responses.
I believe it happens quite often & something that needs to be discussed.
Yes, it was in my PB group, but honestly, it really doesn’t matter if the patient requested it or not.
I would think the Doctor would not want complications...and a Breakfast like this would, at the very least, cause tremendous heart burn and/or blood sugar issues.
Your system is so compromised & delicate after surgery, I would think a lighter meal would’ve been offered, regardless if the patient is Plant-Based or not. Maybe Oatmeal, Fruit, Dry toast?
Even on a good meaty day for some...this is disgusting food.
@Bri36, we see the same thing!
Question to Health Care Professionals:
As a patient, are you required to eat it?

Your welcome, my Lovely!

The only healthy thing on that tray is the wipe.

@Ruby Laine wrote:Many hospitals use Pride light butter. It has 0 trans/sat fat. Cardiac patients are usually offered a choice of turkey sausage or chicken patties. Pancakes are made with egg substitute, although many dietitians have no problem with eggs eaten occasionally. I can’t tell if the milk is 2% or skim.
Why did this this patient have to be kept overnight for stents? Maybe some other health problem, too?
I am certainly not saying plant-based is not a good thing, but in this one instance, maybe things aren’t as bad as they look.
None of the changes you sugeested would make it anywhere near healthy for anyone..
Much less a cardiac patient..

My dad was just in the hospital with pneumonia over the weekend.
They have a "room service" menu that you can order from for your meals. They have a lot of healthy things that you can choose. They also have a lot of unhealthy things.

@sidsmom, he's home now. He's doing much better. The nebulizer treatments helped him so much.
He's a tough guy - 86 years' old.
Thanks for asking!
