I saw this post in my Plant-Based FB group yesterday.
How is this possible a hospital serves sludge like this?
This post has close to 300 responses. Several shared the
exact same meal choices....AFTER cardiovascular surgery.
Luckily those folks are on the right nutritional PB diet path
to avoid heart issues in the future.
Someone called this ‘The Repeat Business Breakfast”.
🤢😢😳

Kinda reminds me of my dentist, whose husband runs a local bakery. She brings pastries in for the dental clients.
She calls it a "Win-Win".
I admit I've left with an almond croissant on more than one occasion.
But I brush afterwards!
Can't scrub your arteries though after the hospital breakfast........

Did the patient request that for breakfast, or does the hospital decide what he gets?

I thought patients chose their selections from the diet offered them?

Once again thank you! Helping educate in turn helps people realize the power is in their choices. There are hospitals taking the lead offering wonderful healthy alternatives. More importantly after leaving. That's entire subject onto itself. Thanks again!❣

It's called 'job security' for the AMA.

Many hospitals use Pride light butter. It has 0 trans/sat fat. Cardiac patients are usually offered a choice of turkey sausage or chicken patties. Pancakes are made with egg substitute, although many dietitians have no problem with eggs eaten occasionally. I can’t tell if the milk is 2% or skim.
Why did this this patient have to be kept overnight for stents? Maybe some other health problem, too?
I am certainly not saying plant-based is not a good thing, but in this one instance, maybe things aren’t as bad as they look.

That hospital needs to get rid of the head of their food service.
I've never gotten a meal like that no matter what I was in for.
No Coke of any kind, for sure.
Where's the fruit or fruit juice?

If a hospital served everyone all vegetarian meals what kind of reviews do you think they would get when medicare surveyed the vast majority of patients?

So many choices are now diet tolerant. Question the DIet Coke. Is that syrup sugar free?
