I love Reiki and went so far as to train to become a Reiki master.
I think a lot depends on the vibe between you and your practitioner. The woman I got my sessions from, and who trained me, was incredible. I always left a session feeling much better.
I've had it from other practitioners and they've been meh or almost as good. Surprisingly I had a session at a bustling outdoor health festival from a woman I never met, and I felt such a surge of Reiki from her despite all the noise and people.

@PilatesLover Thank you the session was yesterday moring, I was very relaxed after it. I booked a second one and hope there will be even more of a benefit

Yeah, I don't get that. I personally view prayer as a form of meditation, you're in quiet reflection in both scenarios. The only difference I see is that in meditation you're not connecting with any dieties, just relaxing your brain.
