I make my own pizza, including the dough. It's not that hard to do and at least I know what's in it.

@Buffalogal47 @There have been many recalls of flour from many brands and types. The flour was usually contaminated with Salmonella. Even making things, such as pizza, from scratch carries some risk. Most of the different brands of flour pass through a large mill used by many companies. In this case, there was sneaky business afloat. The seller tried to sneak the product in without inspection. That's not an accident. Good thing the inspectors caught this.

Do you also make your own flour?
The flour is usually the culprit

@Mindy D @software I use King Arthur bread flour. Salmonella, like most bacteria, is killed by high heat. Pizza is baked at at least 400 degrees.
Flour also contains weevil eggs. They are also killed by baking. If you don't bake often you'll find weevils in the flour that have hatched out. That's why you never should eat raw dough.
