Recommendations for protein powder

Hi everyone! I am on a mission to lose 15 pounds and I have been drinking a protein shake each morning. I am not thrilled with the one that I got at my local GNC and thank goodness I am nearing the bottom of the can. I am in search of a powder that is high in protein and low in carbs. Oh, and I want to be able to enjoy the taste! Can you share what you are loving? I would really appreciate it!!!!!

Re: Recommendations for protein powder

I've tried many over the years and the one I like best and have been using for the past few years is NOW Whey Protein Isolate (I prefer the isolate over the concentrate). I use the vanilla one as it tastes really good and I can add what I like to it - sometimes berries, sometimes cocoa powder, occasionally a banana or peach.

0 carbs, 0 sugar, 0 fat.

I think it's 24 grams of protein per serving.

Very good product, no artificial sweeteners or additives.

Ooooh, that sounds great. Where do you buy it? I have never heard of it!

Re: Recommendations for protein powder

I buy Bob's Red Mill Whey Protein. No flavor, not anything.

I understand Andrew Lessman also makes a Whey Protein Isolate with no flavor or anything as well. I am going to try that next when I am done with my case of BR.

Re: Recommendations for protein powder

I get it on Amazon, usually in the 5 pound size. Sometimes I buy 10 lbs at a time, depending on my budget and the current price.

NOW Foods is a very good company. You can go to their website to learn about their supplements. I use a few others besides the protein powder.

I like Vega One which is a plant-based protein powder and Tera's Whey which is an organic grass-fed whey protein powder.

Re: Recommendations for protein powder

I would suggest protein nectar brand, it comes in lots of flavors such as cappicuno, strawberry milk shake etc. and you can mix it in a shaker cup with no blender. ALso it has lots of vitamins.

Here is the link...

yes, it might cost more than your local but it taste great, but also you know what....Atkins shakes taste good also.

We've been using Lessman's Whey Isolate, but I'm going to try the NOW, next time. Very similar in ingredients and exclusions.

Re: Recommendations for protein powder

I mix 2 protein powders. One is Andrew Lessmans. It doesn't have any calories or carbs, but lower protein and bad taste. It tastes like plain yogurt. The other I mix is EAS Whey Protein because it's another brand I trust, high protein, added glucossamine and has a wonderful vanilla flavor. The only thing I don't like about it is most other protein powders have high calories, and EAS has 150 per serving. That's the main reason I mix, cutting mine down to 75 calories.

Re: Recommendations for protein powder

Please check out bodybuilding.com .. yes, it sounds like a man website but i get all of my vitamins and workout gear from there. They ship SUPER fast (same day if Mon-Sat). They have a TON of blogs on there with plenty of knowledge from supplements to workouts, tips and tricks, etc. It's my favorite website.

I adore "NLA for Her" supplements and protein powder (I personally use their pre-workout and also their aminos during workout), also "Cellucor" has FANTASTIC tasting protein powder (mint choco chip, cookies n cream.. YUM YUM!!!!) Both powders are low in fat and carbs and also not ridiculous with calories.

If I'm ever having a crazy sugar craving, I'll mix some greek yogurt with any of the Cellucor flavors, freeze for 3-4 hours, and have a delicious, protein packed and HEALTHY frozen yogurt! {#emotions_dlg.wub} nomnomnom{#emotions_dlg.w00t}
