Timeline - They BOTH were arrested on 2/15.

On 3/27, after review by a grand jury, Rice was indicted on aggravated assault and his fiancée's charges were dropped.

THE NEXT DAY - 3/28, they suddenly married. The wedding had been planned for this summer. She then refused to testify against her husband.

I REALLY have to wonder at the wedding date...was it coerced? The team had her read a statement at a press conference where SHE apologized for her role in this.

I've seen the videos...she had nothing to apologize for - except maybe her poor choice in a partner.

That by her remained on the team website until yesterday...

She needs to get some counseling and leave him ASAP.

He will be blaming her for the situation they are in soon...

Yes, it is. If she married him the DAY AFTER HE WAS INDICTED, she knows she married him for better or for worse.

The link contains Janay's statement on her feelings about the incident. Ray either made her say all of this to try to take some of heat off him, or she is so delusional and battered that she can't see what is actually happening to her. And before anyone attempts to paint me with the "blame the victim" brush, you need to understand that these are Janay's words, and unfortunately for her, her words make her see frightened of him (and she should be) as well as being too delusional and battered to see things clearly.

Not a sports fan. Don't follow any games or any personalities. Just a thought about this one. The way she was treated... I personally would not want him around... and I would not defend him or this behavior. He needs major help with his anger issues. And she needs to get a life. I do believe it is the money that is making her hang around and support him. But next time she might not be so lucky.

Yes, I wonder the same thing myself, and I can at this point only conclude that she married him because she was afraid not to marry him. He may very well have threatened to hurt her if she refused to marry him. She may also have done it for financial gain. It looks extra shady that she married him the day after he was indicted.

SHE apologized more than HE did!!!!

She was coached in what to say. The team had her apology on it's website...they just took it down (I guess they finally realized how it didn't help their cause!)

I wouldn't be surprised if her wedding the day after the indictment was determined by his lawyers to be best for his case.

Yes, she certainly did apologize more than he did. It was absolutely very telling about the situation that she is in with him and the football team. I didn't know they had her apology on their website. It is beyond words that they would pull something like that. At this point it seems like his lawyers and the team management must've pushed the marriage right on through in an attempt to salvage his reputation/career. Janay's whole demeanor is just defeated and deflated when I see her. I really hope that her family/friends can get to her and help her if she will allow them.
