I have been recovering from a fractured wrist and was prescribed diclofenac gel 1%.  I know all drugs have that long list of side effects but this list was more troubling than most lists especially in regard to my medical history.  I still needed to try it but I stopped after one week.  It did nothing for the pain and swelling in my wrist, hand and fingers.  Proper dosing is very important with this drug too.  It comes with a dosing stick and a medical person should show you how to apply it properly.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

Foot doctor gave me this in pill form for PF...I couldn't take it. Tore up my stomach...caused some bleeding even when using potty. I only took it for 2 days...bad pains...took with food. Went off it tried again 1 week later...same thing. Tossed in trash...told doctor but he never gave me anything else to try after that. Wish he had tried the topical instead...didnt know there was one.

Think it's best I avoid it...just can't handle it ripping up my intestines.

My dr. gave me some sample tubes of the Volarten gel he had a few years back to try & it worked OK when I used it on my knee.  I also bought a tube of Diclofenac cream at a farmacia in Nogales, Son, Mex during a cross border trip (I live in Tucson, so it's easy to take a trip across the border into Mexico, though it's been several years since I last went) & I think I prefered the cream form to the gel.

We are in Sierra Vista but have never made the trip over the border.  Hi neighbor!

DH & I would like to thank you all for writing and answering about this product, the good and the bad!  This really helped him make a decision and after trying it and not getting much relief he decided to Not use it because of the side effects.

All RX's are trial and error and each body is different.

For my self I found out with an RX of my own that common side effects may be known by the company but not mentioned in the information sheet.  I called the company and asked "is this common?"  It was.  My conclusion is that the trial/tests are not accurate.

Example: years ago we both took Zomeg which is a very good drug for migranes.  It worked on both of us like a diauretic but was not listed anywhere.  Fast forward to 2018 my recent Zomeg says that it caused frequent urination.

This is a great way to get opinions across the country from people who will take the time to write to another.  We are grateful!
